About Me
I love to meet new people and travel, so I thought I would combine those two joys in life and join couchsurfing. When I go abroad, I'm naturally inclined to live like a local, which entails buying food at the local supermarket, avoiding tourist-y hot spots, going for long walks around the neighborhood and getting a feel for the place where I'm staying at. I'm good at being with others or keeping myself entertained. I don't mind going separate ways with the host if they prefer to do their own thing. I do love to have lengthy discussions with other people and learn about their unique perspectives and experiences that led them to those viewpoints.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was on the work exchange website Workaway last year and I really enjoyed it. However, sometimes I cannot travel for months at a time and would only like to visit a country for a short duration, anywhere from 8-14 days. I was hesitant to join this site because even though I have always wanted to host someone simply because I believe that traveling opens up doors for people and I want others to experience the joy and growth that comes from traveling, I didn't think many others had that same outlook. However, after meeting new people and staying with someone who would let people crash on their couch, I realized that there actually are many individuals out there who want to meet new people and host simply out of the goodness of their hearts. I believe people like that truly make this planet a kinder place and they help inspire others to open their doors to people simply looking to explore this vast and beautiful world.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite artists include Petit Biscuit, Yotto, and Eli & Fur. I love music that makes me happy. Sad music can be fun to listen to but I'd rather not feel down, especially when the emotions that arise when listening to a song are not mine.
My favorite movies include Call Me By Your Name, Howl's Moving Castle (and most movies created by Studio Ghibli) and Eat, Pray, Love. I like aesthetically pleasing films that take place in some ambiguous European town. I like films that will expand my self realization journey and combine auditory and visual learning.
My favorite books change constantly because I'll go back and read a "favorite" book only to realize it's no longer a favorite of mine. I like books that make me feel something and help me grow into a better person. I also love reading fiction novels that I can't put down and have to finish in one day.
Any form of media that makes me lost in the art is a favorite of mine.
I like listening to podcasts and TED talks. I enjoy listening to Brene Brown and Elizabeth Gilbert.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've rescued a few animals. I currently have two dogs and two cats adopted from my local shelter. I've also helped save the lives of a baby chipmunk, an adult chipmunk, and an adult squirrel. I've fostered kittens who needed help with coming out of their shell and learning how to trust humans. Helping animals is my passion and I have an immense amount of empathy for the voiceless.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy learning from others. I understand that we are all exposed to different things in this life and just because one person had a certain experience, it doesn't necessarily mean that most others will live through the same thing. Nonetheless, it's still nice to hear other people's stories and childhood memories that helped shape them into the person they are today.
What I Can Share with Hosts
