About Me

Hey I'm Natasha 👋🏼 I am half Kurdish and half Irish but hold dual German and Irish passports. I was born in London but grew up in Berlin before moving back to the UK when I was a teen. So when people ask where I am from, I have trouble answering. It’s complicated 😉

I've recently completed a 20 month travelling trip through Asia. I visited Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Burma, Sri Lanka, India and Mauritius. My trip ended in Nov 2018.

I now want to give back to the CS community by giving my couch to new friends from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet people from all over the world so that we can learn about real local culture and make some new friends that can visit each other from across the world.

Sharing food, culture and laughs is what human interaction is all about. Interacting with people who do not speak the same language or share the same culture is both funny and heart warming because you will find other ways to communicate. Being able to stay in someone’s home is truly being integrated in their culture - this is an amazing thing. And of course you are always welcome in my home, wherever that home might be.

Interests

Food - is a massive part of my life, I love to eat. Local food is always best. Somehow there’s always room for dessert.

Sport - I love to go to the gym - Muay Thai, yoga, boxing and spinning.

I love the outdoors - hiking, walking, swimming - being on or in the water

Extra curricular - big love for scuba diving and snowboarding

I absolutely love animals - save the turtles, save Asia’s dogs & cats - I like animals more than humans.

I love to laugh, I love to dance - don’t need alcohol to do either of these. In fact I am not a big drinker, I don’t like the way it makes me feel. Though sometimes I like to let my hair down.

I like to think of myself as having a good sense of humour and I don’t take myself too seriously.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
I am an eclectic when it comes to music. I like reggae, drum n bass, EDM, dancehall, electro house and reggae fusion. I also like light pop rock like the arctic monkeys. The only genre I don’t like is heavy metal.

Movies & TV
I don’t have just one favourite film but I really loved Inception and generally any film starring Leonardo Dicaprio - he’s a really awesome actor. Loved the film Spirited Away.

Series I like include Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Banshee, Girls, Mad Men, Dexter, Penny Dreadful & Death Note.

Books
I don’t read so much these days which is a shame but when I was young I loved Enid Blyton books. I was also a huge fan of Roald Dahl.

The best recent book I have read is ‘Behind her eyes’ by Sarah Pinborough - it’s a mind fuck.

Also really love any books on the psyche and the complexity of the mind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding the whole of Vietnam from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city on a very bad Chinese copy of a Honda Win. What an experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy teaching people something that I know about, it gives me satisfaction. I can teach English, how to use chopsticks to other travellers and some photography skills. If I know something you would like to learn about, I will happily share my knowledge.

My hobby is photography which I have a huge passion for. If you are also interested in photography and there is opportunity to take some photos together and share tips, that would give me great pleasure.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share funny stories, food (I love to cook), some travelling tips and generally have good conversation over some nice food and drink....

I will give you tips for visiting great spots in London.

I can take you out dancing/clubbing in east London, it’s a lot of fun.
