Sobre mí

I’m a warm and smiley Biomedical Sciences student at the University of Oxford looking to travel as much as I can in the holidays. I have a silly, ironic sense of humour and an endless sense of awe about new places

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I think the best way to experience a place as a tourist is to stay with people who live there. I love hearing about how people go about everyday life and what they eat, and funny little places they like to go. Bit rogue but for some reason, I love to visit supermarkets in other countries. Why does cheese come in such massive wedges in sweden ??? Why isn’t it like that in the UK ??my most valuable travel experiences are always crowded round a plate of homemade food, sharing experiences and laughter. It’s tricky to get that insider knowledge from a hostel! I’d love to host people but right now I’m in between different student accommodation leases.

Intereses

my interests include baking, playing the trumpet in a funk band, listening to podcasts, going to comedy clubs, exploring new places and rummaging around vintage shops. I love walking along the coast or around lakes, stargazing and anything related to the great outdoors. I like taking photos of sunsets and colourful houses on my iPhone camera and pretending it’s photography. i think making teas from foraged herbs is unbelievably wholesome. I like finding myself in whacky and weird places. I’ve recently got SUPER into making my own ice-cream from scratch, especially from homegrown fruits. I find a lot of joy in coming up with wild new flavour combinations. Hit me up with any suggestions xoxo

Música, películas y libros

I’m either listening to indie rock type tunes (my favourite bands right now are hippo campus, sports, arlie and børns but this changes a lot) or cheesy classics like abba. I recently volunteered at the indie rock festival Truck in the UK and discovered enough material to last me for years. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole so I’ll dive in if only if you’re looking for recommendations !! In terms of movies, I love black and white movies (like The Apartment or All About Eve) or golden age rom-coms (basically anything with Meg Ryan in). I don’t have a lot of time for reading much other than textbooks but I’m looking to change this!!

Algo increíble que he hecho

Two weeks ago, I spontaneously hopped on the train and travelled solo to sweden (it took well over 30 hours). I’ve never travelled solo before so it was a bit of a BIG DEAL for me xoxo

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I love to cook and would be very happy to cook for you!! I have recently MASTERED roasted red pepper humous and can cater for gluten-free and vegan diets if you fancy !! I know a little bit about a lot of things, and a lot about science if you have any questions about the human body! I can offer English language practice and would love to learn some snippets of other languages in return :) I’d really like some vegetarian recipe inspiration, and maybe some tips for veganism of dumpster diving if you have them. I’d also love to know a city’s best escape rooms and board game cafes. Being taught a new board game would be an absolute PRIVILEGE.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

i can offer (hopefully) enjoyable and interesting conversation and some help with cooking! I can introduce you to some funky indie bands.
