About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Move to London (done!), move to an island paradise (well, Jersey isn't paradise but it is an island!), and figure out what on earth to do in life.

ABOUT ME

Enthusiastic, down-to-earth, smiley, sporty, a little bit geeky (well, maybe a lot!), a tad hippy and hipster, and a professional.

Love love love to travel.
Usually travel with my partner in crime, Tim : https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/tim_k_

PHILOSOPHY

Be open to new people and different experiences, live life to the fullest, and be kind and thoughtful to others

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hostinf, surfing, travelling, meetups, and forums.

PLEASE do not add me as a friend on CS unless you know me or have met me or I am a friend of a friend. I will reject all unknown friend requests.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I first arrived in Melbourne I couchsurfed for a couple of weeks with three different people. All were wonderful, and they settled me in Melbourne and got me started. Not only that, but many became part of my main circle of friends, ones I will retain for the rest of my life.

I honestly could not recommend Couchsurfing more. I love the opportunity to meet new people and to get to know them. Through CS, we have made friends in:
* Asia, surfing in Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, and China;
* N.America, surfing in Denver, Calgary, Cody, Seattle, and Los Angeles; and
* Europe, surfing in Nimes, Besançon and Troyes (France) and Fully, Lucerne (well, nearby) and Zurich (Switzerland).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking through the Cairngorms when I was little. As a group, we managed to get caught in a storm halfway up the mountain and had to stop alongside the partially frozen river for cover. It was terrifying, and no-one knew exactly when the storm would pass (it could have gone on for days). However, it passed after a few hours (thankfully), and we were able to climb out of our ditch and hike to the top of the mountain. At the top, and as we crested the tip, the snow had cleared, and we were presented with one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever witnessed. The snow covered mountaintops lay all around us, white and sparkly, but beyond that, and straight ahead, lay a completely green valley. The sun shone down into the valley, lighting it up and casting a glittery sheen across the deep blue loch which was situated in the middle of the valley. Magic!

Climbing Cradle Mountain in Tasmania and seeing a field full of wombats, kangaroos and wallabies on the return.

Drinking a stubbie on Bay of Fires beach and playing around in the sand taking photos which made it look ridiculously like it had snowed!

Standing at the end of the Earth - Painted Desert, C.Aus

Sailing the Whitsundays, chasing whales, on an ex-America's Cup sailing boat challenger.

Skydiving in Sydney, Australia.

Exploring Death Valley (it's seriously Dune!)

Diving in the Great Barrier Reef.

Motor-cycling around the Thaekek loop, Laos. Also, ziplining in Laos.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can talk of Scotland, law, Asia, tea, coffee, alcohol and food (I love tasty food and delicious drinks).

When surfing, I am happy to help out with day-to-day tasks, and want to spend my time away learning, and participating in, as many new things as possible!
