About Me

THE ONE WHO TRIES LIVING FOR TODAY AND EXPERIENCING EACH MOMENT OF HER LIFE.

In order not to be so pompous, I'm a simple 25 years old UKRAINIAN girl who has graduated as Master of ecology but is still being in search of herself. The word 'simple', in my case, means dat I'm always trying to be open to people and sincere with them.

However, I'm quite a straight person --> Some discomfort may occur for those who don't share this feature. And such thing as white lie is not for me - better to say even the creepiest truth!

Usually it takes some time for me to adapt to an unfamiliar person (being taciturn, shy, and modest), as a result, '1st impression' Natasha rarely would be the same as Natasha that you know for a while. Sometimes this difference is so huge dat people can't call to mind how we met for the 1st time :D

I'm a very 'flexible' companion: equally enjoy traveling / long, very long, or very-very long walks outdoors / dancing in the club till morning / drinking till death GOOD beer, wine, rum, whisky, gin whatever / reading a book all day / skiing / mountain hiking / listening to music / watching films with self-cooked pizza / digging in the garden / drawing, or just lying on the grass in total silence and looking at the stars.

Interesting people for me are those who are:
- kinda strange/weird, not ordinary;
- crazy
- have a good sense of humour;
- have brains and use them as intended by nature;
- love animals and wildlife in the whole;
- can't imagine their life without music;
- are not greedy (Greedy people make me vomit. Imho, the worst feature in a person.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I HAVE A STRONG BELIEF THE BEST WAY TO DISCOVER THE COUNTRY IS TO GET ACQUAINTED WITH ITS LOCALS.

As the main aim of ma life is to visit all existing countries (at least 195) with Antarctica, CS is exactly what I need for embodying my plans. As it gives a really amazing opportunity to feel the spirit of the country/nation from the inside. I'm grateful to those smart people who came up with this idea!

I have been as a surf for decent times but never as a host, to my great regret. But I will surely do host people as well as soon as I have my own apartment.
Nevertheless, while having a free time, I'm eager to hang out with people showing them my city.

Interests

Variety of things: traveling / interior and landscape design / skiing / mountain hiking (unfortunately, have a little experience so far) / music / reading / animals / environmental protection / drawing / partying / history (mainly in the past) / Scandinavian people and stuff / native Americans cultures etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:
SHOW ME WHAT YOU LISTEN TO AND I WILL TELL YOU WHO YOU ARE!
I'm a music lover: a day without music listening is the lost day. All genres of music are OK for me, but the favorite is INDIE ROCK in different modifications: post-rock, post-metal, post-punk, New Wave, ambient, electro music.
If you have a fancy for such musicians and bands as Sigur Rós (especially these guys!!!), Ólafur Arnalds, Interpol, Crystal Castles, Röyksopp, The Knife, Emika, Joy Division, New Order, The Velvet Underground, 65daysofstatic, Radiohead, MONO, Fever Ray, Mogwai, it's 99% dat we will find a common language with you ;)
BUT nothing can compare in case of soothing with the music of a gurgling river, torrential rain with a thunderstorm, rustling leaves, wind in a field, and birds singing!

BOOKS:
Like reading paper books, wherever I'm: at home/in my country house's garden/in public transport/used to do dat at classes as well :D.
Prefer mainly classic literature: American, European, Russian and Ukranian, basically novels: historical, war, social, realistic etc.
Erich Maria Remarque and Fyodor Dostoevsky are such geniuses in prose for me like Sigur Rós in post-rock.

MOVIES:
Never watching movies alone. If I'm alone, I always prefer reading.
Favorite genres are drama, thriller&crime, sometimes romance, comedy, and action. Historical feature and documentary films ('Braveheart', 'Gladiator', '300') were my passion at a younger age.
Always go to the cinema on all films from Marvel Studios ('Iron Man' - one love), can't stomach Russian bullshit (films of Aleksei Balabanov are the exclusion, +1 genius of film industry), but fond of Danish cinema (Lars von Trier is a god of film directing).
Leave some names here: Gaspar Noé, Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, Joel&Etan Coen, David Lynch, Peter Jackson, Clint Eastwood, Ridley Scott.
Notwithstanding, smth dat doesn't require to strain your brains (I mean typical Hollywood comedy and romantic films) could be the ideal option for evening as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fought for our freedom during the Revolution of Dignity in 2013-2014, including the period of the Maidan slaughter 2014/02/18-2014/02/20. These events restored my faith in people.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH:
Can teach you Ukrainian/Russian language / cooking Ukrainian cuisine (borscht, varenyky, pyrih, mlyntsi, deruny) or worldwide dishes (diff pizzas, pies, chebureki) / hmm, I'll think about what to add..

LEARN:
Ready to learn any stuff you can provide. Personal experience shows extra knowledge and skills are never superfluous :)

SHARE:
Ukrainians are very generous people, and I am not an exception. I can share with you everything you need, if I have it (certainly within reasonable limits).
