About Me

Hi, I'm Natasha! ! I'm a Scottish 21 year old au pair(nanny) in the USA who's looking forward to visit as many places as possible and to make a lot of new friends from all over the world. I am in my second year of living in the States, my first year was spent in Boston, MA and I am now in Raleigh, NC.

Friendly and fun loving introvert, kind, caring, considerate and 100% house-trained!! I enjoy meeting new people, being out in the big outdoors and going on adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A couple of years after I moved out of my mums house for college, she become a host for a while and I used to love hearing her stories about all the people she had met from lot's of different countries and it overall sounded like a great experience of getting to meet new people and experience different cultures. I feel that it's a great way to see a new city through the eyes of a local and not just the tourist traps.
Also due to me being in the US as an au pair, I'm depending on a restricted budget. I'm not willing to let that reduce my amount of travels though as I'm a traveller at heart!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, all types of music. I love to sing (although I'm tone deaf, haha) and dance. I love having spontaneous dance parties in the house, whether I'm by myself or with friends and family, and on nights out you'll usually always find me on the dance floor. I like going to concerts and music festivals. I like associating music to people, it's evocative.

I love movies that can make me laugh, think and/or cry, they're way too many to list them, but some of my favourites are: all the Harry Potter's, the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, Star Wars, all the Batman's movie, Toy Story, Brave and 10 Things I Hate About You!

I love to read. I'm that person that if there is a movie that has been adapted from a book, I have to read it. And yes I can sometimes be that person who will say "the book was better" after watching the movie! I especially enjoy suspense books and murder mysteries, however I am a sucker for romance books as well. I like to read travel books also, I am currently using the Travel Guide To 'Merica for the Young, Sexy and Broke as my guide to places I want to visit while here in the States!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've ever done it's probably when I decided to leave everything I was used to behind to start a new life in another country and to become an au pair.
I have witnessed the Northern Lights from my home town in the North of Scotland
Once witnessed a lion kill a crow just for fun, obviously not so good for the crow though!
Sailed a 44ft sailboat

Teach, Learn, Share

I am open to learn anything! Starting from a learning a new recipe to cook to learning a new language or learning to play an instrument. I'm a believer that new experiences will help me make my life better.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Ultimately I hope we can share some stories, experiences and laughter and maybe some food. And I can maybe teach you to Ceilidh Dance (Scottish dancing)
