About Me

- CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A COOL PLACE TO STAY FOR THE 4TH OF JULY -
Hi! I'm Natasja, recently graduated Art History student from Antwerp, Belgium. Right now I'm doing a 6 month internship in New York city and I would love to meet new people to discover the city with!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling because of all the new beautiful places you can discover, the interesting people you can meet and the new languages you can learn. With Couchsurfing I feel like you can take this to an even higher level, because you get to know people much more personally, and you can discover new cities from their perspective! And I'm always down for new adventures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music: this list would be way too long, depending on my mood! Mostly indie pop/folk, minimal techno, some classical music too.
Favorite movies: Un Long Dimanche de Fiancailles, Snatch, Before Sunrise, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Big Fish, Shutter Island, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, ... and any Tarantino or Coen brothers movie.
Favorite books: I'm busy trying to read all books "you have to read", still a long way to go! My favourite books so far: Americanah (Ngozi Chimamanda Adichi), The End of Loneliness (Benedict Wells), Mrs Dalloway (Virginia Woolf), Tongkat (Verhelst), Remains of the Day (Kazuo Ishiguro), Things the Grandchildren Should Know (Mark Oliver Everett). (And I do admit I also read the Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire series. And like them a lot.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago I wanted to visit some of my best Erasmus friends in Milan to celebrate New Year's Eve with them, but I couldn't go because I didn't have any money at all and couldn't pay my flight or bus. But I really wanted to see them again, so I hitchhiked all the way from Antwerp to Milan and back (almost 2000 km in total) just to be in Milan for two days. It was the best New Year's Eve I ever had and I never knew how cold and scary, but also how interesting and adventurous hitchhiking on your own can be! Europe is so beautiful, and I will never forget all the people and stories I encountered on my way there. I could recommend it to everyone.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love good conversations, exchanging stories, and learning and teaching new languages. I love (vegetarian) cooking as well. Besides that I'm always down for any random adventure.
