About Me
Shalom, bonjour, hi, hallo!
My name is Natanel Nuriel Macanian, but you can just call me Nate. I'm a first-generation American, as my parents were born in Iran, grew up in Israel, and moved to New York where I was born and raised. 🗽
Since immigration is in my blood, I've always had a connection with traveling. The tapestry of my travel stories are full of brilliant colors.. I've worked as a news broadcaster in New Zealand, studied plant medicines with shamans in Hawaii, guided psychedelic retreats in the Netherlands, and lived in a Buddhist monastery in Myanmar.
For me, the best memories in life are created when we live in the flow of the present moment, and share the joy of spontaneity together with old friends, new friends, and sometimes perfect strangers. I've had the most incredible experiences and friendships with couchsurfing hosts and guests, and I enter each new encounter with a curious mind and open heart.
For work, I am a mindfulness meditation teacher and love sharing with others how to practice meditation and different types of breathwork. 🧘♂️
In my free time, I love to hike, swim, go camping, find live music, cook, and organize sweet gatherings of humans.
Thanks for reading and hope to meet you soon!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love listening to and creating music. My playlist is mostly electronic, tropical house, and indie-folk genres.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Started a business called "Nate's Spice Shack" where I sold hot sauce from all around the world at my college.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to connect over food - whether I'm hosting or you're hosting, let's jam in the kitchen!
I have been teaching meditation for 7 years, and would love to talk about anything related to mindfulness / Buddhism.
Let's explore hiking trails, good tea, epic documentaries, and whatever else gives life good flavor!
But mostly, I can share good laughter, good vibes, and some travel stories from my journey :)
