About Me

A serious food, music, and culture enthusiast who has a constant itch that only experiencing foreign spaces can relieve. I save money a lot of money on calamine lotion that way ; ). I'm all about making connections and understanding my new surroundings through talking and sharing experiences with the people I meet through my travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I often find that there's nothing that gives a person a genuine feel for a place like makings friends and often times sharing space with a member of that community. I find it provides a perspective that puts you as close to being part of the community as one can get without being a resident.

Interests

I think there's an Anthropologist hidden (not particularly deep) inside me somewhere. I just can't seem to get enough of how culture works and dissecting how it manifests into the world that a particular populace lives in. I also love food and music and am fascinated with how much they can differ from culture to culture, as well as discovering which particular Western style cuisine and music are being consumed the most in a given country or region.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I had to pick one: Book- Of Water and Spirit, Album- Toss up between Illmatic and Innervisions, Movie- Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, T.V. Show- No Reservations w Anthony Bourdain,Food- Everything that Kaz An Nou served...R.I.P. (Damn you, soaring Prospect Heights rent!!!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen some amazing during my travels but I'm not sure I've done anything that would qualify as amazing just yet. Fingers crossed, on my next adventure that could all change!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have quite a pretty cool and (at least to me) a perpetually intriguing cultural background that most people outside of Central America probably aren't very familiar with. I love sharing stories about the origins of the culture and the unique things I experienced growing up in and around it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Honduras, Japan, Portugal
