About Me

CURRENT MISSION

In the first half of 2014 I'll be working on a series of personal visual art projects taking me all over the continental United States.

ABOUT ME

I very recently settled in Santa Fe, NM after living on the road for most of the year. Among other things I've been developing a new body(ies) of work in the Denver/Colorado/Northern NM area and have been doing a series of street art installations in Denver using material from previous narratives, and bodies of work, as well as more contemporary stuff. I plan to continue all that in Santa Fe now that I'm living there....

I have a photography business outside of my personal visual art work that keeps me pretty busy. I travel frequently to Mexico, where I lived for two years, and travel frequently around the US and Canada. It's nice to connect with people friend or romantic who can both handle having and giving a lot of space when needed.

When I'm not traveling for work or making art, I dance. Dance is a big part of my life. African, Blues, Fusion, trap/hip-hop, house, dubstep... I often travel for dance events around the United States.

On a personal note, I'm the oldest of three, I have two younger sisters and I love them to pieces, miss them more than anything, and am excited constantly to see them grow into their own unique adult individuals. :)

PHILOSOPHY

Trying it IS doing it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing! :) I'm relatively new to couch surfing...about a year now...It was then that I moved out of my loft in Portland Oregon and only wish that I had known more about CS...I would have loooooved to have hosted people. I hope to be able to offer that experience to travelers in the future when I'm settled in a spot for a time. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Amazing. As I mentioned above November 2013 was my first CS experience. After arriving late around dinner time in Savannah with my traveling parter (a CS veteran of 6 years), our CS host apologized profusely for not being able to hang out and that he didn't have space in his house for us...he did however have an entire unoccupied, and fully-furnished house we could use, for free, that he normally rents on Air B&B. Amazing. To top it all off we were invited in for a homemade dinner with three generations of immediate family. We drank wine, ate steak fajitas and swapped stories and life experiences. That night in Savannah completely affected the way I think about interacting with complete strangers.

As I write this I've couch surfed in quite a few places since...Rhode Island, Ogden, Utah...Orlando, Florida...

Interests

Art and expression of any kind. Culture history. Dancing, both formal, informal, in a club, on the street, partnered....love it. :)

Developing greater levels of self-awareness and understanding. I love music, anything from the Memphis/Atlanta/NoLa triangle really speaks to me but I'm generally open to most anything. :)

Love to read, photographer, share a good coffee, drink a good beer, explore, push myself...

Teach, Learn, Share

Photography, visual languages, to the physical production and presentation or concepts...lets have a conversation!

If you have some technical photography questions, trying to figure out which new camera or lens to buy, or just questions about f-stops and apertures. I'm your guy.

Dancing! Connecting with people through dance is one of my passions. I can give you the 0-60 lesson on connections with the floor, the music, yourself and others.

Lacrosse! Seriously. In a past life I was a lacrosse goalie and a collegiate all-american at the MCLA Div 1 level. Maybe you have a young kid who's interested or who already plays. I can teach and have taught everything from basic to advanced passing and catching fundamentals to more complex defensive concepts and the nuances of everything physical and emotional about playing goalie.

Do you like breakfast? I do and I like cooking it for my friends. :)
