About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Continental Bingo. Current score: 6/7.
ABOUT ME
I recently exited a career with a large, international accounting firm (KPMG) to pursue a PhD in Accounting here in Boston. (Yes, such a thing does exist.) I am flattered, however, that most are surprised when they find out what I do for a living. One of my biggest fears in life is to wake up one day and realize that I’ve lived a mundane, boring, cookie-cutter life devoid of any originality or excitement... Not gonna happen!
PHILOSOPHY
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” -Henry David Thoreau
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
This community feels like something I have always craved and wished for, but never knew existed until a friend introduced me. It restores some of my faith in humanity to see a community of this caliber interact with one another.
Interests
A study in opposites, I'm usually torn between reading a good book... or jumping off a cliff/waterfall; chillin' at home playing the guitar... or scaling some remote peak; watching a sunset... or building & living in a treehouse; cookin’ Thai in the kitchen... or traveling the world. Getting out into the Great Outdoors on a regular basis is a must for maintaining my sanity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiked/climbed the Great Wall, hitch-hiked across Samoa, kayaked across Phang Nga bay in Thailand, safaried in Kenya/Tanzania, dug wells in Mozambique, and miraculously bowled a 201 once.
Teach, Learn, Share
“Nothing so liberalizes a man and expands the kindly instincts that nature put in him as travel and contact with many kind of people... Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
-Mark Twain
