About Me
I'm a student of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago finishing up my last year there. I grew up in the bustling metropolis of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and then went straight to Portland, having heard it was a strange enough place to go, and so it was. After studying and working there for a bit, I moved on to graduate school in Chicago, where I'm at presently. I aim to travel as much as possible and so far that's been Morocco for half a year, studying Darija (Moroccan Arabic), and a bit of hiking around Europe. I'm driven by a constant search for new foods, drinks, musics, and stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been briefly lost in the Sahara and found my way back to the camp I was staying in, and have ridden on camel-back to and from said camp. Likely other several pretentious-sounding stories I'd be happy to tell.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've taught both creative and non-creative writing, am in the process of studying Arabic intensively, and I've dabbled in drums (drumsets, kpanlogo, orchestral drums), and the banjo and would be happy to share anything I know.
I'd love to learn more languages and more about cooking or, more realistically, eating.
