About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discern whether references should be made in first person or third person, and if first person, whether they should be made in first person omniscient or first person limited. Also, to say first person as frequently as possible - first person.

ABOUT ME

Trust me
It's Paradise
This is where the hungry come to feed
For mine is a generation that circles the globe
in search of something we haven't tried before
so never refuse an invitation
never resist the unfamiliar
never fail to be polite
and never outstay your welcome

just keep your mind open and
suck in the experience
and if it hurts
you know what... it's probably worth it

you hope, and you dream
but you never believe that
something is going to happen for you
not like it does in the movies
and when it actually does
you expect it to feel different
more visceral
more real
i was waiting for it to hit me

i still believe in paradise
but now at least i know it's not some place you can look for
cause it's not where you go
it's how you feel for a moment in your life
and if you find that moment it lasts forever...

Hi All,

I live in a huge house with my 19 year old son. I also have two other sons that are with me 50/50. So, when they stay with me you likely can't (unless you're unbelievably normal and nice). However, when they aren't, I'm happy to host as much as I can.

There are a number of bedrooms and couches available. The house is about a 20 minute drive to downtown and has a bus route nearby. But be warned, Calgary public transit is not very efficient. That's why we call it highway city!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel; 49 countries and counting! I believe meeting new people is the most interesting part of it. Being able to stay with local people wherever i go would be a really cool experience. So i guess if that's what i want i better reciprocate. Quid pro quo!

Now that I´ve been a part of this site for a while, I love it more than ever. I´ve had some amazing people into my home, and I´ve experienced some incredible generosity and graciousness from hosts I have surfed with.

I only host cool people. So far that seems to be the only type of people there are on CS...yeehaw!

ITHACA

When you set out on your journey to Ithaca,
pray that the road is long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.
The Lestrygonians and the Cyclops,
the angry Poseidon - do not fear them:
You will never find such as these on your path
if your thoughts remain lofty; if a fine
emotion touches your spirit and your body.
The Lestrygonians and the Cylcops,
the fierce Poseidon you will never encounter,
if you do not carry them within your soul,
if your heart does not set them up before you.

Pray that the road is long.
That the summer mornings are many, when,
with such pleasure, with such joy
you will enter ports seen for the first time;
stop at Phoenician markets,
and purchase fine merchandise,
morther-of-pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
and sensual perfumes of all kinds,
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
visit many Egyptian cities,
to learn and learn from scholars.

Always keep Ithaca in your mind.
To arrive there is your ultimate goal.
But do not hurry the voyage at all.
It is better to let it last for many years;
and to anchor at the island when you are old,
rich with all you have gained on the way,
not expecting that Ithaca will offer you riches.

Ithaca has given you the beautiful voyage.
Without her you would never have set out on the road.
She has nothing more to give you.
And if you find her poor, Ithaca has not decieved you.
Wise as you have become, with so much experience, you must already have understood what Ithacas mean.
