Overview
About Me
I am not a huge party animal and prefer relaxed and more quiet evenings; chatting about everything and anything that comes to mind; maybe cooking and/or enjoying a beer together. However, I am open to the occasional party.
Have been vegan since late 2010 and would prefer to stay/meet up with other vegans or people who are mostly vegan/vegetarian or seriously interested in the topic.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
******* Please read *******
I want to offer a couch to (female) couchsurfers again soon but due to renovation of our flat, this may not be happening until mid/late November 2023.
****************
Back on Couchsurfing after a few years of not even having the app on my phone, as neither travel nor hosting was an option for me for a while.
I think it is great that you can meet with and connect to people via Couchsurfing that you may not have met otherwise. I always like to learn new things or hear about people's lives/interesting stories, as well as just being my silly self when I get the opportunity.
Having lived in London for more than 5 years, I was shocked recently when I realised just how rarely I've actually left the city in that time..! So I am now trying to actively get out a bit more often, and looking forward to seeing new places and faces from time to time.
I have a massive fear of flying (not been on a plane for 20+ years) and am therefore having to limit myself to western Europe for now; however, with the right kind of people around or just being in the right mindset/spirit for a solo trip, I don't feel I am missing out on anything, as there is still so much to discover anyway (even within London or the UK). :)
If/when I get the chance to take several months off at some point, I'd love to travel around east/south east Europe for a bit - but it does not look like that will be happening any time soon, so I hope to be able to explore the wider neighbourhood a bit in the coming years.

Music, Movies, and Books
Tom Waits, Ben Folds Five, Eels, OK Kid, Danger Dan, Elliott Smith, Randy Newman, Bénabar, Sanseverino, Libertines, Queen, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Dresden Dolls, Jamiroquai, Oasis, Elvis Costello, van Morrison... Classic Rock... Guilty pleasures not included here. ;) Generally not a big fan of the umtz-ummtz type of music.
Not a music snob and haven't actively been trying to find new stuff for years, to be honest; but if you've got some great music you think I should know, I'm happy for you to introduce me to it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going on a semi-spontaneous hiking/canoeing trip in Sweden.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to learn (about): astronomy, philosophy, growing your own food/foraging, crafting, playing ukulele (got one during lockdown 🙈 but have not really managed to teach myself much)
I could teach: German, English, basic crochet, easy vegan baking recipes
What I Can Share with Hosts
A considerate visitor who will respect your space and would be happy to hang out but is absolutely not expecting you to do so if you don't have the time/ don't feel like it.
I am not the greatest cook (not terrible either, at least I hope so), but I would gladly cook or bake something [vegan] for/with you; if you do not trust me with the cooking, I can still do the dishes. Oh, and I will play with your attention-craving cat if you have one!
