CURRENT MISSION

Got hooked on surfing (waves, not couches) so packed my bags and moved to Lisbon. I would like to see as much of Portugal as I can while I'm here. And my goal for 2017 was to travel somewhere every month, so far I´ve done this 6 out of 7 months... :)

ABOUT ME

I'm a Dutch girl, graduated from the Art Academy in Rotterdam, have been working and living in Amsterdam for the past 10 years, with a little break in between where I lived in France and currently I'm living in Lisbon. I work as a freelance illustrator.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that made you smile!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Whenever I had a house in Amsterdam that was suitable, I would host people. If not, I would sometimes show them the city or take them to cool house parties in Amsterdam.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Just a few, but all good as you can see in the comments. I have not surfed couches that much yet, but as a host myself, I think I would be a good surfer as well. Because I know what it's like to be on the other side.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Deans Blue Hole on Long Island, Bahamas is the most amazing place I have seen so far. We rented a plane in Miami and flew there. We met some local family of which the father and the two oldest sons are divers for Discovery and such, and they showed us around the island. We saw places we would have never discovered on our own.

Teach, Learn, Share

What can I teach people..? Maybe some drawing skills, a few words of Dutch and how to drink wodka without being hungover the next day. Trust me, it's a very handy skill...

Learning new things is one of the best things in life, so I am open to anything...

What do I have to share with you guys... Well my house, my city, dutch culture and all the odd little things that are a part of it, like the kroketten out of the wall! You're thinking; the what?! Yeah well just come and find out when I'm back in Amsterdam!
