I’m a french student in a Master’s degree in science illustration in Paris (but I come from the Normandy countryside). It’s an unusual curriculum in which I work closely with scientists to communicate what they’re working on to the broad public ! It’s a fullfilling way to participate to the bigger climate change crisis and make people aware of their surroundings.

With my girlfriend Charlotte, a med student, we’re travelling through Europe. I’m usually kind of introverted but I want to socialize with people from other cultural background.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A bit cliché but I want to experience european culture (especially food) and I find the couchsurfing concept quite appealing, especially as a student, it’s a nice way of meeting people outside your usual circle.

Music, Movies, and Books

~MUSIC~
I’m really The Strokes and Radiohead, old school rock in general (Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Doors) and a lot of stuff like Sigur Rós, Ramin Djawadi, Mitski, . . . I don’t mind other genres though and open to discovery !

~MOVIES~
Recent movies that I enjoyed would include The Lighthouse (a black and white descent into madness), Dune (mainly because of the cinematography and I loved the books) and Across the Spiderverse (a breath of fresh air in animation and artstyle). Fav of all time would be Interstellar and Arrival.

~BOOKS~
I read a lot, mainly science-fiction and science books, (some of) my favorites being the Horde of the Counterwind, the first Dune trilogy and Your Inner Fish (a book about evolution).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the chance to live three months in an Arctic research station in northern Sweden. Living in a dorm with other interns in environmental science, enduring the midnight sun, the cold winter and the elk who roamed around the station makes for great stories (and I loved the saunas).

~FOOD~
I love cooking, I was born into it and I love to cook food from around the world and share this experience with other people, because food is best enjoyed with others.
~SCIENCE~
I am also highly interested in local flora, fauna and linking the history of a place to its geography and ecology. From hours of procrastinating on books and wikipedia, I can also tell you lots of random facts about dinosaurs or animals overall :)
~PHOTOGRAPHY~
As a design student, I like to observe my surroundings and have a vintage film camera with me at all times to do some film photography, so it would be nice to have a photo with you !
