I think it's important to spend time with people from other countries and experience life from their perspective. I love Couchsurfing because it helps to unite people from different backgrounds at a time when there is so much divisive misinformation out there. What motivates me to travel isn't the tourist attractions, but the opportunity to experience the lives that others live, their food, and their culture.
