About Me

LAST UPDATE
Nov. 15, 2017

CURRENT MISSION
To create for myself a balanced lifestyle, to travel, meet interesting people, to give and give back. On the short-term, I'm focusing on becoming financially independent.

ABOUT ME
Please ask, all questions are very welcome. Looking forward to meeting you. My pictures are up-to-date. I have a beard these days.

PHILOSOPHY
Do whatever it takes to figure out your life purpose. Persevere. The way you do anything is the way you do everything. Among others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

One of the joys of traveling is experiencing life differently: I enjoy sharing with locals, discovering their lifestyle, having conversations about life where they live, etc. I find Couchsurfing a wonderful place to be able to make wonderful encounters.

When I am not traveling, my house, wherever I may happen to be, is open to whomever might need a roof, a couch, some food, a nice hot shower, an Internet connection!

Please also feel free to practice your English, French, Japanese or German with me. My Spanish is very rusty.

I encourage you to ask for whatever you may need.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience with Couchsurfers this far has been nothing less than perfect.

So far, I've couchsurfed in South America, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa to meet great people, attend events and gatherings, find places to stay...

Meeting Couchsurfers around the world and showing them around has also been fun. So far, Couchsurfing has worked out great.

Interests

I could sum up my interests in four words:
- Tennis
- Business development (marketing, product launches, innovation, novel concepts)
- IT: the Internet, high-tech products
- Anything international: traveling, airports, learning languages, meeting people of various cultures and backgrounds.

That just about sums it up.

Traveling: more and more I'm giving up on going places solely to visit, I'm gradually moving on to really meeting people.

Languages: I'd like to start learning a new language soon.

Internet-related activities and businesses ... though I waste way too much time on that!

Math, puzzles, solving problems and mind games. Chess and Chinese Go, though I don't play nearly as much as I would like to.

I just started learning how to play the concertina, but I'm really not very diligent.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading, occasionally watching movies, listening to music though I don't actively go out my way to do so.

I usually like Japanese movies, including a little anime once in a while, and European independent films.

I listen to almost any kind of music. But usually, I listen to oldies, soft, independent and acoustic rock, and more recently I have started listening to blues and jazz.

Most of my reading happens online these days. I have a book list I am trying to make my way through and update as much as possible.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I won the lottery by being born when and where I was born. I'm grateful for getting to know my family and friends, doing the things I did and being where I have been. Life has treated me well so far. I'm grateful for all of that, and it's all thanks to friends and family, and even complete strangers sometimes.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy helping out if I can. Even if sometimes I'm asked for help and I don't actually have the expertise to do so, I will gladly spend time to try to become knowledgeable, enough to be able to give a hand.

Investing in yourself is maybe one the best investments you can make. I make a point of constantly learning and growing as a way of investing in myself.
