About Me

I am easy going and love to travel. I have been round the world seeing new things and experiencing new cultures which has really broadened my horizons. Some highlights include:
Two months living in the Peruvian rainforest doing animal conservation work to rehabilitate exotic animals which had been taken in as pets then abandoned.
Six week adrenaline fuelled road trip around New Zealand doing scuba diving at the Poor Knights Islands, zorbing in Rotorua, snowboarding at Cardona and bungee jumping into water at Kawarau.
One year living in Germany, visiting as many beer festivals as possible, eating all the schnitzel and weekend trips round the country.

I have just finished my masters in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Glasgow in Scotland and am doing a six month trip before looking for a job. During the trip I have just finished a month in Jordan, including a quick visit to Istanbul. I am now travelling round Japan for two months before going to Fiji to take part in a marine conservation programme to save the bull sharks in the area.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have met many people at hostels who have had incredibly positive experiences using couchsurfing so I would like to experience the awesomeness as well. I feel this will be a great way to really experience a place and find out the insider tips on what to do and what to eat to get a genuine understanding.

Interests

I love keeping fit through running and triathlons. I have to have at least one week on the slopes snowboarding or skiing a year. Photography is my current passion, trying to capture the beauty and majesty of a place in a photograph to show and inspire others. I am fascinated by new cultures and immersing myself in the local cuisine.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving; anywhere and everywhere, it is whole new world down there. The best dives I have done include:
Shark diving off Fiji where 2 meter long bull sharks and white tips swim right in front of you.
The Rainbow Warrior wreck off New Zealand.
Whitsunday Islands, Australia; a brilliant place to experience the magnificence of the Great Barrier Reef.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always happy to help people improve their English and enjoy trying to learn a bit of the local language. I would like to learn about other peoples experiences of traveling, different cultures and countries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy sharing my experiences and stories from wherever I have been and hearing what others have done.
