About Me

I'm a person who lives for adventure. I was born and raised in Sweden and have since lived in 5 different countries: Sweden, Israel, Australia, UK and the US. I have travelled most of Europe, parts of South East Asia, the US and a few countries in the Middle East. I absolutely hate being a tourist and love to immerse myself with new cultures when I travel. I am an avid language learner, speaking 4 languages fluently (Swedish, English, Hebrew and Norwegian) and 2 on a basic/intermediate level (Italian and Spanish). I am constantly happy and love to meet new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that opening ones home to others is one of the most beautiful thing you can do. In 2015 I went to a festival in the US called Burning Man. One of the principles of Burning Man is that you cannot buy anything there (apart from buying ice haha). Instead, you have to learn the art of gifting, which is exactly what Couchsurfing is about. As a student I have met lots of people who have couchsurfed and told me how much of an impact it has made on their lives. I too hope I will be able to share similar experiences and also give a bit of myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all types of music. Really. I listen to everything from classical music to metal to dubstep to techno. There is no limit. In regards to movies I would have to say Les Intouchables (The intouchables). I have watched it about 5 times and it never gets old. Such a feel good movie! I think my favourite book so far is Viktor Frankls Man's Search For Meaning. It is a very heartfelt book based on Viktors life in Auschwitz during World War 2. Very powerful and a reminder to never forget history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I used to be very shy when it came to public speaking. So in my final year of university I set up a public speaking society. I knew it would be hard but I wanted to challenge my fear. I gathered a committee and in one year we grew to become one of the biggest societies at our university, awarding us the 2016 Best New Club award. The society and experience changed my life and I know it has done the same for many of the members. It feels great to have actually made an impact and having been able to inspire so many people. It is truly the best thing I have done during my 4 years of education.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you Swedish, English, Norwegian and Hebrew. I am also a good chess player and I play tennis. I can teach you about psychology which is my major and I can teach you how to cook amazing Thai Currys and Israeli dishes!

Learn: I would really just like to learn about you, where you come from and what inspires and motivates you. Like I mentioned, I hate being a tourist, so inviting me to your home and showing me the places which resonates with you as a person is more than I could ask for.

Share: I would like to share stories about travels, family, life, politics and economics. Anything really! There are so many human beings there with interesting stories that I can never get enough of it. I am a born extrovert and love to both listen and tell.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can only share myself. I guarantee you a positive guest with lots of interesting stories from my adventures around the world. I am tidy and a non-smoker. If we share the same passion about being open-minded which I am sure we do, you will perhaps not just have a guest, but also find a lifelong friend that promises to return the favor one day.
