About Me

Routesetter and instructor at my local climbing gym. Wilderness First Responder. I absolutely love the outdoors in all capacities, but especially rock climbing. I live with my fiancé in Jacksonville, FL with our dog, Chell, and hedgehog, Ollie. Not many rocks around here, so I try to travel often.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing appeals to me in that I love meeting new people, in new places! The empathy and share-culture of the CS community has always attracted me to it, although I haven't had the chance to explore it too much! I've always heard great stories from friends and family, and I really want to check it out for myself!

Interests

Climbing, Hiking, Camping, and the outdoors interest me greatly. Teaching and sharing what I can defines me, and I'm always interested to learn to new things that I've never known before! I love knowledge, and have competed on a trivia team for a scholarship for my first two years of college! I'm naturally curious, and I try to pick up on things quickly.

Helping and teaching are what drive me, and so I'm interested in learning as much as I can to help as much as I can. Call it a "hero complex" but not only helping people, but having them know that I can help and be reliable is what I'm all about!

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to round out my tastes in music movies and books pretty well, but when it comes down to it, pretty much any music is awesome, except country, I love all movies, but especially Sci-Fi, and the same can be said for books.

I'm currently trying to get through the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, but it's proving difficult because I spend most of my time now keeping busy at my climbing gym.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a climbing instructor, routesetter, and am a certified Wilderness First Responder! I've worked at a High Ropes Course, as an "Eco Camp" counselor, and an environmental educator!

And if you're as much of a romantic as I am: I proposed to my fiance on top of the Arc du Triomphe with the Eiffel Tower in the background in the middle of Paris!

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH:

I can TEACH you all about climbing! I can teach you to tie many cool and useful knots! I can teach you about hiking and camping efficiently and safely! I can also help keep you safe while camping, hiking and climbing, as I am a Wilderness First Responder!

I can also teach quite a bit about the outdoors, and how to keep your bearings straight in a pinch.

LEARN:

I'd LOVE to LEARN about the area you live in, where you've been, and where you aspire to go to in the future! What are you good at? What things do you go off on a tangent about? tell me it all! I literally THIRST for knowledge!

All of these things I'd also love to learn more about from people more experienced than I, as well as ANYTHING ELSE you or anyone has to offer! I love knowledge, and try to seek it out where I can! I'd love to learn all about you and your life! I love to share and be shared with!

SHARE:

I hope to share my passions with you, and hope that you'll do the same! I love sharing moments in life with others, and being there when people just "hang out." I want to share my experiences with you- I want to share OUR time and experience things together!

More physically, I would love to share a meal with you, or a drink or two if you'd like! I firmly believe food brings people together, and it becomes those moments that keep people together. Families can go an entire year without seeing each other or talking to each other, yet around the holidays all they need is to share their food and time with each other and it's as if no time has past since the last time they were together. These are the moments I hope to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring anything the host requests that I can fit in my pack. Want something from Florida that is or isn't a souvenir? Sure! But it cant be a gator. Those have to stay back home. Sorry.

Want me to pick up some food, or groceries on the way in? I'm your man!

Just let me know, and I'd be happy to help!
