About Me

CURRENT MISSION
To learn as much as I can, from who I can, whenever I can... Oh, and maybe to try and grow cherry tomato plants that don't overtake the rest of the garden.

ABOUT ME
I've recently relocated to Michigan for work and am currently still getting settled. While I'm not able to host just yet, I'm open to meeting for drinks or to suggest places while you're in town. Reach out!

Things I enjoy: High-fiving strangers, red wine, dive bars, finding different ways to wash my face, being the change, learning, growing, my dogs, recycling, giving back, paying it forward, reading, writing, running, rowing, bike riding, exploring, music festivals in the mountains, intelligent conversation... My amazing family and my ridiculously loyal friends.

PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live. Be the change. Succeed by helping others succeed.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couchsurf when I travel and desperately hope that those I stay with, and others, couchsurf with me. The people you meet couch surfing, the things you are exposed to, the memories you can look back on... irreplaceable.

Interests

Independence, the dog beach, soccer, green smoothies, flag football, Chicago Cubs Baseball, weekends away with friends, rowing, Chicago Bears Football, any Art Institute, hot dogs, ice cream, fro yo, puch maxis, white girl spanish, green tea, running along Lake Shore Drive, photography, the National Anthem being sung at a Blackhawks game (#Murica), Manuel Antonio's Capuchin's and Montezuma's beach, volunteering/philanthropy, equality, not littering, wit and sarcasm, 80's hair rock, 90's hip hop (Biggie than Pac), hugs, and chewing gum - with my mouth closed - because bad manners aren't really my style.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've spent New Years Eve on the beaches of Manuel Antonio in Costa Rica with the locals, live DJs, and fireworks. I've followed couch surfers into basement bars in Barcelona to watch the best flamenco dancers I'll probably ever see. I've eaten dumpster-made meals in Amsterdam that were just as good as the professional Dutch meals I've had at restaurants. I've gone to a Freaky Friday party at the groundskeepers house atop a massive hill in a Jewish cemetery in Brighton, England, because... Have you ever raised your Freddy Krueger, glove-masked hand, equip with a fresh Queen's Park Green, to cheers the man in the corner wearing a huge black crow's mask, destroying it on an electric violin? Seriously. Try and picture that. It was wicked! I've walked every inch of Brussels, while stuffing my face with waffles, only to dance off the calories at Tomorrowland the following weekend. Then there's the obligatory selfie with The Eiffel Tower, marveling at the architectural beauty that is Notre Dame at dusk, and maybe drinking too much wine at a river-side cafe along the Seine in Paris.
