About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Beijing-Copenhagen (by train) & Tokyo-Kyoto (on foot)

ABOUT ME

I have been pretty lucky in life, being helped by so many people literally around the world (I travel a lot). So I have tried to do the same to other people.
I trust people, too easily, perhaps. I may be gullible in a way. I take what people say/write as it is, and later I often find out that they "just" say/write so... But I prefer to remain like this. I can never be wise, or I don't want to.
Instead, I am clear-cut and decisive enough to keep only good relationships/friendships. Yes, I also learn very much from every experience!

PHILOSOPHY

a Japanese haiku goes;
What makes a boring life very interesting
Is your soul
(it is up to your thoughts,
N.B. Japanese people think in heart and soul, not in the head)
by Takasugi Shinsaku and Nun Moto

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will figure out what I can do little by little.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have many experiences for that (not thru this site), and among them I found some really excellent hospitality that I later tried to emulate to offer.
To be very honest not all of my couchsurfings were very comfortable, I had some horrible hosts/guests. But I could still learn something everytime, from both sides of view. So this is worth doing.

Interests

I am interested in self-sufficient life styles, or trying to live without modern technology (now studying...), volunteer works, emvironment conservations, sustainable out-door activities, traveling in old-fashioned ways (on foot, by ship, by train), Stromatelite of Hameling Pool

Music, Movies, and Books

The latest my favorite music-> G-5
Movies -> there're many! but the latest favorite is "The Illusionist", I also like movies of Kitano Takeshi, an Italian film "Life is Beautiful", a biographical film "Hotel Rwanda"
Books of Ivan Illich, Noam Chomsky, Kohama Itsuro, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., and many others!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The final day in Jamaica, on my way to the airport a car with two gentlemen in suits, with ties was behind my rent-a-car which just got a flat tire. They firstly honked and warned me to change the tire. I shouted back that I was in a hurry to catch a flight and wanted to go to a service station. They speeded up, passed me by, waved hands to make me pull up, got off their car and change my flat tire in 5 minuites. Saying "Take care!" and they left.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think straightforwardness/frankness/honesty is always appreciated. There's no need for both sides to be frustrated.
And guests should try to learn the general customs/tendency of the host country and its people beforehand, though they should be flexible to adjust the knowledge on site.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Jamaica, Luxembourg, Maldives, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Greece, Japan
