About Me

I'm almost 30 (but not quite) and I have travelled the world in many ways....flown, sailed, walked, climbed, driven. I've stayed in 5 start hotels in cities across the world and Tents in equally as fantastic places. I've even lived on a cruise ship. I just love meeting new people, learning about cultures and in particular broadening my outlook. My main passion with travelling is food, I'm not talking about local delicacies like When I visited Thailand (where eating bugs and spiders are considered a sport) although I do swear by the policy of 1) never be rude and turn down food someone is offering and 2) try anything once as you don't know until you've tried. I'm talking about proper local food, meals you eat with your family as a tradition, not something fancy pants you made because you have guests!
At the moment I am working as a flight attendant so I travel across the world on a weekly basis, I have advice on where to grab a great coffee in Paris, where to find bargain shopping in Milan and how to get around New York in 24 hours. All I ask in return is like minded advice on your home city and if it's not too much trouble a home cooked meal and a swapping of stories if you have the time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined a few years ago but never really summoned up the courage to get involved. My job enables me to meet many fantastic people, one of which is actually an avid user of couch surfing. The positive feedback I get from regular couch surfers persuaded me to give it a try. As I said before I travel the world with my job but I am sure, even if I have visited your city 5/6 times and think I have exhausted everything there is to do there, you as a resident will find me something new to experience!

Interests

Aside from eating and drinking in countries I visit, I love music. Live bands in particular. In the evening my idea of heaven on a stick is a local pub with a guitarist and singer. In the daytime I love visiting places with a history, a story. Not so much into the shopping, that I can find by myself but find me somewhere that serves the best coffee, somewhere I can watch a local play or somewhere I can capture a great picture of a sunrise and I will be super happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music I like anything with words, lyrics, something that tells a story. If I'm a couple of glasses of wine down (or God forbid a jägerbomb or 3) anything in the charts would suffice!
Movies I'm an avid action flick freak, war films are my passion though. I mentioned earlier the history obsession.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To be honest I have done a few but I feel writing about them seems superficial and fake. If we meet and the stories come naturally then that's a different case.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn about different countries from people that live there. There are so many places I visit on a regular basis but genuinely do not have a clue about the actual life there.

To teach, I have visited the world in a lot of different ways, feel free to ask questions or advice. We hopefully never stop learning however much we feel we have experienced.
