About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Be a citizen of the world...
ABOUT ME
As a half-Swede who grew up part time there and in the US I have always enjoyed spending time in other parts of the world and traveling. One of my travel highlights was trading rounds of drinks in a pub in Sweden with a German engineering student, an English college professor, a Belgian EU translator, and me the sole American swapping stories and talking about world politics. Gotta do more traveling... I'm a relaxed guy who believes you can always learn from talking to people.
PHILOSOPHY
A favorite quote: "Don't tell me how much a man has gone to school, tell me how much he's traveled, and I'll tell you how educated he is." - Mark Twain
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By traveling and sharing my home as much as possible, offering my couch, have coffee, try to help out visitors as I'd like to be helped when on the road.
Interests
Anything outdoors. I love to camp, hike, sail, surf, be at the beach. A beer and live local music is hard to beat. Running and triathalons.
Love live music, play acoustic guitar. There are some good live music venues near my house.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Hawaii, walking out on the lava fields as they flow from Kilauae was amazing. We did this at sunset, when everyone else was walking back in. It takes quite a while to get to the flow, and it was pitch black by the time we got to the edge so that the only light was the glowing orange as it poured into the sea with giant plumes of steam hissing and rising up. It may not have been the smartest thing to do this at night alone and I was suprised that you could walk as close to the edge as you dared with no rangers around, my girlfriend at the time was pretty adventurous so I can blame her... It was surreal standing out there as giant chunks of the island, which was semi-cooled lava, broke off and fell into the Pacific.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to share my knowledge of nutrition and natural medicine with anyone interested. Natural medicine is also a lifelong learning process, so I am happy to learn from others as well. I am also an avid fitness and outdoor sport enthusist, happy to share this knowledge..., hiking, backpacking, camping, tennis lessons, yoga, acroyoga,...It's always interesting to learn from other people's perspectives.
