Hi, I'm Jacob!
I work as a sexual health nurse in the Netherlands. It’s a job where I meet all kinds of people, which is something I really enjoy and it definitely matches my interest in cultures and human connection.

I love exploring cities on foot or public transport, trying local food, and getting recommendations from locals (those are always better than anything online). I also enjoy going out for a drink and meeting new people, whether it’s a relaxed bar or just a casual evening out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy meeting people from different cultures and hearing their stories, honestly that’s one of the main reasons I love traveling.
I’d describe myself as open-minded and easygoing. I’m quite social and enjoy good conversations, but I also understand people need their own space and downtime.
I used to host on Airbnb myself, and I really loved the social aspect of it, meeting people from all over the world and sharing experiences. That’s also what draws me to Couchsurfing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done is live in Kosovo for a while to do research on elderly care. It was a really eye-opening experience to see how different healthcare systems work and how important cultural context is when it comes to caring for older people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I once taught my ex-partner how to speak Dutch, which was a really fun and rewarding experience. It made me realize how much I enjoy helping others learn and how language can bring people closer together.
