About Me
ABOUT ME
I love meeting people and exchanging stories and having fun, but also happy on my own in quiet times as well. Positive and out-going - very into getting to know the world around me - people and things.
I'm a musician - I play saxes, flutes (many kinds), didjeridoo and some percussion. Improvised music mostly - I love the creative process of making (sharing) music with people......
PHILOSOPHY
No particular philosophy - just always trying to live in the moment - and to move forward, rather than looking back or not moving at all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Have been hosting for nearly 3 years now - really enjoying it!! Happy to host people when they need a quiet haven in the mad hustle and bustle of Tokyo!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted quite a few people now and have really enjoyed it! I started out imagining it would be a great way to get to know fellow travellers and share experiences and stories. and that's exactly the way it's turned out!!
Interests
I'm a musician, so that's my passion.
I'm vegetarian - interested in good healthy, sustainable living.
I do yoga and swim.
Used to play tennis heaps, but tennis shoulder/elbow have put a stop to that for a while now.
I know my way round computers - I work as a sound engineer using the computer as the centre of a music production studio - mixing and mastering CDs.
I love reading - lots of different genres, but mostly things that make you think.
I'm not political as such, but I really like to know what's going on in the world and WHY.

Music, Movies, and Books
There's so much music I love it's too long to list.
But I play, jazz, world-music, Brazilian......
Some of the authors I keep coming back to are Salman Rushdie, Noam Chomsky, Naomi Klein, Haruki Murakami......
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lots of travel stories which may better be saved for sharing in person.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sharing is very particular depending on who you are sharing with. What you can offer and receive may change depending on who the other person is. But from my profile you can probably get a pretty clear idea of what I'm interested in and where my areas of knowledge are.
