Overview
About Me
Hola amigos,
I am Naveed, Nav, or Navi. Moments before writing this I was embracing my mom in a "goodbye for now" hug.
So it is with tears in my eyes and a tender heart that I share a bit about me and this walking pilgrimage.
Tomorrow, Oct 20, 2021 on the full moon I begin my walking journey from Denver, Colorado to San Diego,
It is time we walk
to the ocean
of our dreams
I have been sitting with this mantra for some time now. And while my walk has already begun in so many spiritual and emotional ways, tomorrow the explicit somatic pilgrimage begins.
The first week I will walk south following the Denver to Pueblo route created by my mentor Jonathon Stalls. You can find the maps https://www.intrinsicpaths.com/walkingroutes-colorado. I will be re-walking a segment of the Ft. Collins to Pueblo walk I did two winters ago that sowed the seeds for this iteration.
Following that, I will follow warmer conditions and intuition. Likely that means I am going through New Mexico, Arizona and then California. And if you are receiving a request from me, it means that I am walking wherever you are!
Intentions/Values
My values for this trip are: following curiosity, deep somatic listening, and re-calibration of my spacious yeses and holy no's.
Intention to move like my ancestors did. Intention to develop secure attachment with myself (see book Polysecure) through attunement, rituals, and presencing practices.
Offers
I have a walking stroller that is packed to the max.
-I'd love to gift you some natural jewelry from rocks, acorns, seed pods I find along my route.
-I'd love to share the many stories I start to accumulate along the way (and stories from past journeys)
-I will be full of unhurried, slow nature time and will have an abundance to share
-Pastel drawings
-Herbal tinctures
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I do not want to rush during my walk. I'd love to move in a way that honors my curiosity and desire to explore and learn. So, at certain points during this pilgrimage I really want to ground and land for 2 full days. This will be a time to reset, maybe do laundry if that's a possibility, book exchange, listen to your stories, explore a city/town, learn a new skill and share my skills (see below).
I have met some very dear friends on couchsurfing and I'd like to contribute to the mycelial field by bringing my gifts and genuineness.
***Currently, I have updated my profile to reflect that I am on a long walking journey. When I am back in Denver and in a position to host, I will update my profile again and reciprocate the surf love.
Interests
I am a part of the permaculture community in Denver. I have helped to teach the social permaculture course and permaculture design course in 2020-2021.
I have a dear friend who is teaching me about place-based simple people medicine herbalism. I will have tinctures with me and would love to share more about those.
I am an authentic relating facilitator and know many games to cultivate connection, curiosity, empathy, and radical acceptance.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music- I like hip hop, reggae and am open to all music styles. The best music is live music, and the best live music is the music that we create spontaneously.
Books- I love Octavia Butler's work. Let's talk Parable of the Sowers, Parable of the Talents, Fledgling, Lilith's Brood. Sand Talk.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two week walking journey from Ft. Collins to Pueblo, Colorado was a highlight for me. This new walking pilgrimage will put me in my stretch zone and I feel so here for it.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach- Social permaculture, yoga class, freestyle rap, authentic relating games, facilitation, spanish, and how to make spit bubbles the size of your head
Learn- About your way of being, place-based knowledge, indigenous wisdom
Share- Laughter, walking, meals, farm/yard work, authentic relating, grief circle
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am hosting a podcast called The River (https://open.spotify.com/show/58b2ghAFQmboEge4LdfWR3?si=67eac42a2f534d58).
The River finds it way to the ocean, fumbling and moving in a non-linear way. I will be sharing my stories, songs, and soulful sounds.
