ABOUT ME
I've been eating a lot of animal crackers in the last couple of minutes.
PHILOSOPHY
It is well to have some water in your neighborhood, to give buoyancy to and float the earth. One value even of the smallest well is, that when you look into it you see that earth is not continent but insular. This is as important as that it keep butter cool. - Thoreau
I read this about 10 minutes ago.
It reminds me of something I read years ago:
He who makes thought his business, he may go far in it, but he has bartered the solid earth for the water all the same, and one day he will drown. - Herman Hesse referencing Novalis.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to help make it possible for more and more people to feel as though their home was the entire world instead of feeling like they're restricted to a very myopic sense of ownership over such a small and isolated portion of it. That would be very nice for the environment, the individual soul and for more interesting conversations.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new. Hopefully I'll have an interesting experience to share soon.
Interests
Rock climbing, backpacking, cycling, outdoor adventures of any kind really, inspiring books and movies, theater, speculating on any subject, learning new things first hand from enthusiastic people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A little while ago, I saw a squirrel carry an entire taquito up a tree and nearly fall out of it while trying to figure out how to eat it.
Teach, Learn, Share
I suppose I could teach someone how to rock climb if they were interested. It could make for some thrilling photos in a travel album. I also learned a couple bar tricks the other day that I wouldn't mind sharing.
Myself, I would love to learn of as many secret wonders as travelers could offer. Beautiful sites, books, local music or foods that might not be found in a travel guide. Things people find unique about the places that nurtured them. I have a handful to exchange. But really, I'm pretty easily entertained. Teaching me anything would make my day.
