About Me

I am into hiking, meeting new people and sharing experiences. I have a nack for Astrophysics, but somehow I ended up doing higher studies related to nanotechnology. I am a Mechanical Engineer by training (not at all by practise though).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel a lot and I like the experience of meeting new people. I am open to hosting and being a guest of someone. Couchsurfing eliminates the business aspect of a hosting experience and gives a real opportunity to make good friends.

Interests

I played cricket all my childhood. Unfortunately couldn’t continue as I grew older. I like reading books when I am not wasting my free time 😅. My current interest for books are now revolving around science fiction. Soon it will change to something else.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- AC/DC, The Who, Beetles, Passenger, James Blunt and so many more
Books- To kill a mockingbird, the time machine, the book thief and so so much more
Movies- Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained etc. etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is an almost inaccessible water fall called "Jadipai", in the Southern parts of Bangladesh. I had to hike for 10 hours through the dense jungle covered mountain to reach that place. It was such a beauty to see the streams of water glowing by the rays of red sun light of the setting sun. The return hike was at night and we lost our way for a few hours. Fortunately we returned back to safety just before midnight. This is an experience I will never forget. Unfortunately the trail to "Jadipai" is closed for a few years now, as it is very dangerous and two engineering students have gone missing from that trail.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really want to learn to play the classical guitar. This has been my dream for more than 10 years. But for some reason I couldn't find the courage to get started.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer hosts a sleeping spot on my couch, with a blanket and a pillow. As I live with two more students in my apartment, I have to check with them beforehand whether or not they will be having any programs in the living area for that day. I could host one guest for one to two days.
