I love traveling, meeting new people, seeing new places, but above all experiencing new cultures. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and just moved up to the DC area for a job.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is a community of like-minded people who share common interests for the 'joie de vivre.' I'm on couchsurfing to meet new people in new places.

Interests

I'm a huge fan of outdoor activities whether that be rock climbing and bouldering, to mountain and/or long distance biking. I always strive to get out into the landscapes of wherever I travel so I can learn to appreciate not only the culture but also the beauty of the environment.

Music, Movies, and Books

As a true Louisiana native I love jazz music, especially live. To name just a few artists: Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, Ellis Marsalis, Oscar Peterson, Thelonious Monk, etc etc.

Reading is also a big hobby of mine, and my interests revolve mostly around non-fiction by authors like Steven Levitt, Daniel Pink, Malcolm Gladwell, and Daniel Kahneman.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made it to Uhuru Peak, Mount Kilimanjaro in March of 2018, wrapping up a great solo backpacking trip in Tanzania after 5 weeks in the country. It's a great feeling to accomplish a long-held goal.
