Overview
About Me
I am currently pursuing my Master of Science in Agroecology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Ås, Norway and from ISARA in Lyon, France. Originally from Pennsylvania in the US, but living in Europe until sometime in 2016.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Hotels are isolating, hostels tend to only introduce you to other travelers or tourists - the real cultural experience of a place lies in its people (and its food). I want to use Couchsurfing as an opportunity to travel and experience the world through the eyes and experiences of those who truly know a place. This can be a platform to build a global network of people who share an appreciation for travel, meeting new people and maybe saving a few bucks on accommodation.
Interests
Food. I love trying new food. I hesitate to call myself a foodie, because I have just as much appreciation for junk food as I do something really fancy. Highbrow or lowbrow, I want to try it. I truly believe that the best way to know a culture is through its food. Food culture is very important!
I'm also really interested in sustainability, agriculture, post-modern literature, R&B and the idea of living in a really small house.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music has gotten more eclectic as I've gotten older. Depending on the day you ask what my favorite music is, my answer will range from Bruce Springsteen to Drake to Robyn.
Favorite movie is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Favorite book is the Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sleeping on sacks of raw peanuts is not comfortable. I woke up in the wee hours of the morning on the cargo boat some friends and I took up the Niger River to Timbuktu, Mali. I climbed onto the roof, laid down and watched the stars fade into pink dawn as the sun rose over the Malian grassland.
