ABOUT ME
I'm sickeningly tall and thin, a consequence of being an overenthusiastic vegetarian/lazy vegan. I travelled very little in my life until a few years ago, now I have a unfathomable determination to badly learn other languages and share my extreme height and British accent with other people.
PHILOSOPHY
Not to share my personal philosophy with other people unless they want to know about it. So you'd really have to meet me and ask... then 5 hours later regret ever having started the conversation...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have used CS a fair bit to travel and meet other people, spreading my bastard English to all corners of the known world. Unfortunately my interminable malaise of unemployment and homelessness means hosting is a chore, but I endeavour to please.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have mainly used couch surfing whilst travelling through Italy and living in Spain, in order to shamefacedly 'get to know' local people and learn other languages. Lately I travelled through parts Balkan before living in Poland, all thanks to the generosity of others. Before this my life was just a series of shambolic couch related liasons, which happily CS has helped formalise...
Interests
Pure mathematics... I Like Sports. Scrabble, naturally. Writing about my interests. Butchering other languages, specifically Spanish, Italian and Polish. Education of many flavours, especially SEN. Doing things for free, and expecting nothing in return. Art of all and every kind (okay maybe not renaissance). Museums, in particular really dry ones.

Music, Movies, and Books
Writing random names seems sensible, so for film - Bela Tarr, because I'm not depressed enough already. Emir Kusturica, because life just isn't crazy enough already, Fellini, Antonioni, Kieslowksi, anything which keeps me thinking.
Musically I go from Beirut to Hello Seahorse by way of The Miserable Rich and a million things in between. Goran Bregovic, Remo Anzovino, Fabrizio de Andre, El Desvan del Duende, Pulp, Black Box Recorder...
Books are really quite good too, Catch-22 and Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro are especially nice. My natural melancholy draws me to books, as a form of escapism and because it's easier than talking, you know?
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Summing up my best experiences in life in short, succinct sentences would be a depressingly humbling experience. I think I'm already morose enough to take the sensible decision to avoid this...
Teach, Learn, Share
On a literal level, I have a degree in pure mathematics, and I speak English, barely. On a less prosaic level I hope I have a warmth, generosity and openess I can share. If it is windy you can also use me as a makeshift wind breaker.
I also love to improve my language abilities, but also pretty much anything anyone has to offer.
