Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To meet new people and enjoy the world at large.
ABOUT ME
We are a happily married couple living in quaint and lovely Barre, Massachusetts. We are both professionals who work far more than we would prefer, but still take time to enjoy each other and our environs.... and occasionally overseas environs!
PHILOSOPHY
Alex: What a tough question. I took a philosophy course in college and did not enjoy it even a little bit. I am engineer, and therefore tend to go with the 2+2=4 philosophy.Laura: I work to live. I do not live to work. Life is a series of choices that determine your life journey. It's like a"choose your own adventure" book! So take responsibility for your own choices and live your best life. Also, I believe we are put on this earth to make life a little easier for one another.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
So far I have participated by typing a few characters into my profile. However, I hope to build my resume by hosting some wayward travelers initially, and eventually satisfying my own wanderlust at some point!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Nothing but positive. We have now officially hosted and been hosted and will not hesitate to do either again.

Music, Movies, and Books
Alex is very much into historical fiction and nonfiction. Unfortunately, this means that on trips Laura is dragged to some very dry historical locations. For instance, she might not have chosen the open air living history museum in the Black Forest... on her birthday... during our honeymoon.Laura likes to read what Alex calls "Human Interest" books and blogs. Feel good stories that make you appreciate the best in humankind. The author she most likes to read is Jodi Picoult.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing Alex has ever seen is the night sky when viewed from our camping spot at 12,000 ft elevation in the Wind River Mountain Range of Wyoming. The stars were so crystal clear and vivid. One of those "make you think" moments.
