ABOUT ME

As you can see, I grew up in a lot of states here in the U.S. But every summer I spent in California with my Father, so that was my home base and where I was born. I traveled Europe, lived in Germany, while in the Army. When I got back to the states I traveled here also, I have been to almost every state in the U.S. Went back to college eventuallly, partied hard, joined a fraternity, for the beer, LOL. Managed to graduate, ran my own business for a few years and then sold it. Its been a fun trip so far.

PHILOSOPHY

Stress will kill you. When I leave my job each day, it stays there. You get one ride here so try to make the best of it. Of course I have had to balance that philosphy with the need to earn a living, lol.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have finally settled into a permanent base of operations, here in North Carolina. I have family here and lots of relatives from my Mothers side of the family. I have a good steady job, so I just bought a new house. I have a spare bedroom and it seems a waste not to let someone use it occassionaly. I'm currently single, so its my decision, always great to meet new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This will be a new trick for me, I have always done the hotel or cruise ship thing when traveling. This idea is great, much more interesting to have a local to meet and learn from.

Interests

And the list begins...Sailing, scuba diving, motorcycles, cars, snow and water skiing. Hoping to try skydiving soon. Would love to get a pilots license also. I also enjoy Blackjack at Las Vegas, playing pool or as some call it, billiards. A good movie, dinner with a good bottle of wine.

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes, yes and yes. I love a good movie as much as a good book. I am particularly fond of good blues music but I enjoy most all types.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First one that comes to mind is sailing into Newport Beach, California at 3am and watching the dolphins play in the bowspray. There are many more.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well for starters, I have a business degree, and the experience of owning my own business. I do most of the work on my own cars and the motorcycle. I can handle most home repair or upgrade projects. I have worked in the insurance and financial industry also. I have raced motocross, sailed as a crewman, and drove for a year, an 18 wheeler, across the states for a living.
