ABOUT ME
I like to think of myself as sincere and easy to talk to. I naturally have a soft place in my heart for things that people might say are quirky, eccentric, or out of the ordinary, but also an ability to find the weirdness in things that may appear ordinary to others. So, I manage to like a lot of things. I value intelligence, but my definition of that has almost nothing to do with academics and basically everything to do with an ability to combine ideas in surprising ways, to make people laugh, to challenge them and/or to make them feel comfortable at the appropriate times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've surfed a few times, but now am mostly looking to meet up, travel, explore, hangout, and talk together with other CSers. I'm hoping to start hosting after I feel out my new living situation.
Interests
I enjoy meeting and spending time with people. All my activities are ultimately just excuses for that (albeit sometimes kind of convoluted excuses). I spend my time working and studying (I'm a grad student in physics/math), or playing with languages or music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I take a lot more from meeting and talking with people on the way than checking things off a list of famous places to see. I've been amazed to hear "ANDY!" and turn around to see an acquaintance from Bandung... while walking in a random, desolate place in Jakarta. It's happened in Singapore too. What are the odds?
I am also sometimes amazed when I realize that, after a year or so since I unexpectedly met some new friend somewhere, that we are still keeping in touch.
