Overview
About Me
I finished college and after frustrations of not being able to find a job (coupled with not wanting a job in the field I studied - Business), got certified to teach English as a foreign language and moved to Vietnam. After a few years there, I've returned to the States to continue my work in EFL.
Other than that, I love traveling, meeting new people, good conversation, good food, good beer, and any combination thereof.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've hosted a bit in Chapel Hill and met up with a few people in Saigon. I'm moving to Chicago soon and will be up visiting a few times to look for an apartment. Since the last time I was in Chicago was 10+ years ago, I have a bit of research ahead of me...It'd be great to be able to meet some people while I'm visiting and start to create a social circle for myself.
Interests
I obviously love traveling, but I also like brewing and drinking beer, reading, knitting, listening to stories and sharing stories of my own, hanging out with friends, exploring new cities, watching movies and relaxing, and doing crossword puzzles. Sometimes all simultaneously.
Music, Movies, and Books
Entirely too many...........If I had to narrow it down to one in each category, The Grateful Dead, The Big Lebowski, The Things They Carried
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking the Camino de Santiago across Spain and meeting all kinds of interesting people from all of the world, of all ages, and from all different walks of life. It was an incredible experience, and I don't think I've ever learned more in a month...about myself, the world, and others.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A listening ear and desire to share stories over a bottle of wine or 6 pack of beer.
