About Me
Hi Everyone 👋
My name is Neav and I’m joined the Couchsurfing community this past summer.
I’m from Seattle, Washington but I live in Boston, Massachusetts.
I’ve recently graduated from university, backpacked through Europe, and now starting a full time job as a marketer for a tech company.
The dogs aren’t mine unfortunately but I do love them.
I am able to host in Boston, I live in the South End.
How do I like to use Couchsurfing? I like to meet cool people from around the world and host people for short visits. For context because of the lack of CS hosts in Boston I sometimes receive multiple requests a day. I personally have the capacity to host 1 or 2 people a month. I prioritize people I think I will vibe with and are interested in me specifically not people who are just looking for any place to stay.
Please don’t message me if:
- You have no references
- If you are looking for longer term accommodations (2+ nights)
- Unpersonalized messages
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of my main goals in life is to learn more about people, their cultures, their priorities, their values, and how they live their lives. I think Couchsurfing can serve as an outlet for that. I also am very interested in how communities are formed and maintained and I think this could teach me more about that 😊

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: practically anything but love edm, rap, classical, classics, as well as music in other languages particularly French, Italian, Hindi, Spanish, Slavic languages, Arabic, and Dutch.
Movies: I love film, particularly really good movies that are well made and subvert expectations. Some of my favorites are (in no order): Gone Girl, Looper,
Battle Royale, Miss Sloane, Arrival, Parasite, Midsommar, Molly’s Game, V for Vendetta, Interstellar, Ratatouille, Triangle of Sadness, and Dune. My favorite at the moment is probably Everything Everywhere All at Once. For Television I’m a huge Survivor, Andor, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Black Mirror fan.
Books: Excited to get to read more now that I’ve finished university and have much more time but some I’ve enjoyed recently are: Atomic Habits, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k, Sapiens, Educated, Dune, The Body Keeps The Score, and Ikigai.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’ve seen lava running from an active volcano in Hawaii
Teach, Learn, Share
I’ve been an educator before and have taught 200+ students various things including debate, research, public speaking, leadership, and business competencies.
I’m pretty well versed in history, geography, current events, startup culture, web technologies, and pop culture.
As for learning, I think that learning new things, continually improving, and having a growth mindset is a fundamental part of my life. I’d like to think I’m a pretty open minded person and I’m always trying to learn more. Things I’m particularly interested in learning include: cooking and baking local dishes, fishing, carpentry, and obviously local culture, customs, and history.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think there is a lot I can share from injecting your life with some enthusiasm, cracking some jokes, and teaching you about my part of the world. If there’s anything I can teach you, I’d gladly do it. I can also make one sick trivia team member if you need one and I love editing people’s resumes/CVs and have seen nearly a thousand so far!
Additionally, I’m a very respectful, polite, flexible, and tidy guest. While I haven’t gone too deep in Couchsurfing yet, I have stayed with many different people in the past. During COVID I spent 6 months at the house of a family friend on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. After a few weeks the family I lived with told me I could stay as long as I wanted, although I eventually had to return to my life in Boston. I am still in close contact with all of them and have stayed with them again a few times since then.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Macedonia, Mexico, Montenegro, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Spain, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
