About Me
VERY IMPORTANT!
If you will write me a generic copy-paste request, I will respond with a generic "Sorry, I can't host you". I am not expecting extra long stories about why you chose to write me, but I want to see that you have read my profile and actually found something interesting enough so that you want to stay with me (meaning, you don't see me as a generic free staying place). I am receiving a lot of requests, so clearly I don't care about hosting people who don't care about putting some effort in this project. The only exception might be if you are on the road and are trying to find something in the very last minute. So be it. But otherwise - please read everything in my profile and only then write a request. I know this is not the shortest of the profiles, but in the end the choice is yours.
I am interesting, funny, helpful, smart, sharing, caring, and many more. Also, huge ego. Also, modest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like meeting people and even more - people from other countries. I also like to help others, and Couchsurfing lets me combine these two things. During my years here I've met many amazing people and shared many stories so that it has become almost addictive, but definitely in a good way.
Interests
Sports - both watching (almost everything) and doing myself (volleyball, running, hiking - if you come at right time you might be able to participate in our friendly volleyball games or we can have a run together). Lately I've been doing a lot of running, so that's my number 1 at this point.
Board games - the most known is The Settlers of Catan, but I play many, oh so many more and am expanding my list in a speed that is higher than my ability to play all those games (sadly).
Active tourism - bikes, hitch-hiking, rogaining and other activities that include nature and personal effort.
And probably many more, but I think this list is getting to long.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies - weird and freaky movies, comedies but not toilet humor, movies that make you think, that show something new, that end unpredictably, many movies from many different genres, fantasy, quality horror (not jump-scares).
Music - as mentioned above - many genres such as neofolk, industrial, gothic, reggae, metal, ska, folk, atmospheric, dub, ambient, rock, symphonic, noise and so on. The list of bands would take forever to write and read, and I can't just put some of them here... I'm a music "collector" so I'll be very happy to learn about your favorite bands and listen to them.
Books - Palahniuk, Murakami, fantasy (LotR, The Wheel of Time and other), Harry Potter and many books from other authors. I love reading and I try to find time for it, sometimes I succeed, sometimes not so much.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking out in my garden in a misty and chilly August morning and hearing a loud and creeking sound from a distance of two huge metal objects rubbing against each other. It's a tiny thing, but the moment was so beautiful that it's stuck in my head forever.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you will have time, I might try to teach you to play some board games. Or basic Latvian. Or answer any questions you might have about this country. Or to solve a rubik's cube. The choice is yours. Lately I've become interested in foreign cuisines, so you can share your favorite recipes (I don't care about cooking them, but just knowing).
