My mission is to experience my surroundings to the fullest and simply embrace the people arround me.

ABOUT ME

I am easy to get a along with and never have a problem enjoying my company. I am extremely open minded and enjoy different worldviews. I love to explore and hope to meet some new friends here on Couchsurfing. I had a fantastic experience couch surfing while I was in Germany. Thus, I hope to return the favor to other fellow travelers. I think CS is a wonderful website, and I would love to give back to the community by showing surfers how AWESOME the city of Portland, OR is ! :]

PHILOSOPHY

My basic philosophy in life is to simply live as good person. I understand that it is cliche, however, I value good company, good experiences, and a good attitude. I believe that those three points seem to support each other towards creating a blissful life. I am very accepting of all beliefs and views.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couch surfed throughout Germany in the fall of 2014, and I had a terrific experience. I have never hosted surfers before, but I hope to change that soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Munich, Bamberg, Nuremberg, and Passau. All were GREAT experiences. (Gruesse aus Portland fuer alle meine deutsche Freunde!)

Intereses

Music and nature are my two biggest interests. I am an active and serious musician so I absolutely love talking about music or simply listening to it. Jam sessions are always a plus. I really like being exposed to new music as well. Camping is my other great passion. I love all outdoor activities. Hiking, backpacking, camping, etc. Camping and other outdoor activities are what keep me going in life!

I also really enjoy reading and learning about history. I am very open-minded so if I come across a fellow couch surfer with different interests, I would love to participate!

I should add that I am open to all new experiences! I love exchanging ideas and interests. So please, feel free to bring forth new ideas!

Música, películas y libros

Music: Basically everything. I love funk, soul, and hip hop. My favorite genre is probably metal, more specifically math-metal. Reggae, jazz, latin, country, pop, techno, dub step...you name it and I am probably into it. I also love the stuff without genre titles!

Movies: The Dark Knight Trilogy is my favorite. I can talk about them for days! Anything Leo DiCaprrio has put out. Also, Interstellar is one of my all time favorites. I am a huge Military History nerd, as I studied history in University. Thus, I really enjoy a good war movie as well.

Books: Into the Wild, Grendel, The Stranger, Life of Pi, Confederates in the Attic, Harry Potter, lots of other stuff

Algo increíble que he hecho

Camping out in the desert in Eastern Oregon left me very astonished. I absolutely fell in love with the landscape and didn't really know how to respond. All I could do was sit and fall in love with the beauty. The same goes for when I visited the Grand Canyon.

Another profound experience came from when I went on tour with my band through the West Coast of America. When the tour was done, I hitchhiked my way from San Diego to Oregon. It was a beautiful experience!

Perhaps the best travelling experience I have had was when I backpacked through Germany alone. While I have no German heritage whatsoever, I love German culture and LOVE German language. It was truly a great trip as I got to greatly improve my language skills and make some great friends along the way. Oh yeah, and Germany is kind of a cool place in general :]

Enseña, aprende, comparte

Something I would like to share with fellow surfers would be my musical identity, my love for learning, my eagerness to be taught, and my passion for the outdoors. I have a tremendous passion for the State of Oregon and the city of Portland in general. I really enjoy showing folks around my city, as I want others to experience what this great place has given to me.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I live in Beaverton, which is just outside of Portland. My house is about 15 minutes away by car to downtown Portland and about a 25 minute ride by street rail. I have an extra room that I can set up, however, the room is not the nicest. Thus, surfers are more than welcome to sleep on one of our couches, or in my room in the floor. We have an air mattress that we can set up. I have two roommates that are also really cool, free-thinking people. One of my roommates speaks spanish, just for your information. Our house is a pretty enjoyable place and it is pretty easy to get to the city from there.

I work during the week, however, I have weekends off. If I have enough advance notice I can try to get a few days off. I do not work very long at all during the summer, so even if I cannot get a week day off, I will still have time to show surfers around :]
