I grew up in Mersin- the Mediterranean region of Turkey- until I moved to Istanbul in 2013. I hardly travelled in Mersin and started travelling with small steps in Istanbul. I'm studying Western Languages and Literature in Bogazici University in Istanbul, and currently I'm doing my Erasmus+ in Uppsala, Sweden. I realize how being somewhere you've never been before feels: pretty exciting. I love being outside, mostly in the nature but any different place where I can feel safe will do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've never done it before but I'm pretty excited about it. When I'm travelling, I love meeting locals and trying to learn what life in that place is like. I'm into politics, social problems of the world, and religion. That is, I love talking honestly about any of these. I love talking to locals as much as I am excited to be their guest and taste the local food and pretty much pretending to be local there. I want to see different worlds and experience being a part of those worlds. I believe it is as much enlightening as reading lots of books. I want to broaden my horizon and try to be respectful as much as I can. And the most important thing while doing that is not by only travelling but getting to know locals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to different types of music, but my favorite music groups are Placebo, Muse, Oscar and the Wolf, Coldplay and the list goes on. I love reading stream of consciousness books. My favorite one may be "Mrs. Dolloway" by Virginia Woolf. And I grew up with Harry Potter series, so J. K. Rowling will always have a major place in my heart. I don't like action movies, I love movies with actual social/political points. I really liked "Captain Fantastic" and "I, Origins". I'm also a fan of the TV shows "How I Met Your Mother" and "West World".
