About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Take over Salvador! Or at least find my way around this city and meet some people as I will be here for an extended period of time...
ABOUT ME
Hi CS! I joined Couchsurfing in 2008 after moving to Salvador, Bahia, to work with a small organization that finances clean energy projects in Latin America. Brazil has been great so far!
A little bit more about me: I was born and the raised on the east coast of the Untied States. My parents are originally from India and I've lived there as well. I also spent four years in California before moving to Brazil, and have traveled in various parts of Asia and Central America.
Of the things I enjoy doing, I love meeting new people the most. That's one of the reasons CS is so great. I also love learning new languages, traveling, dancing, hiking and trekking, and a nice cold beer with a warm breeze.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others as you would unto yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I regularly attend CS meetings in Salvador or wherever I am. We also occasionally host guests and I've surfed in a few locations.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am very active in the CS community in Salvador, Bahia. I'm indebted to CS for having helped me meet new people in Salvador. It's the primary way I made most of my friends. The group is a lot of fun and we're always up to something! Every now and then I am involved in organizing an event as well.
I've also met some great people through CS in Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, and Costa Rica.
Interests
Hiking, going to music shows (especially samba, afro, MPB), partying, meeting new people, exploring new areas, traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am reading Capitães da Areia by Jorge Amado and I have to say it's a pretty awesome book.
Lord of the Rings and all those other movies that make you think you're in England in 1400, Jhumpa Lahiri, Manu Chao, Indian pop/bollywood, hip hop, Ivete sangalo, Timbalada.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is a hard one. I like to think that the things I've done are not extraordinary, but exciting. Moving to a new country has been pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm happy to teach whatever I know - languages (English, Spanish, Hindi, Gujarati, or Portuguese). Drumming, I can play the timbal (Brazilian instrument). Some Indian cooking.
