About Me

I am trying to travel Europe for one year without spending any money on transportation or accommodation. In other words, I only hitchhike to move from one city to another, and I pass the night in a tent or in someone else’s house if I find a host. And I vlog everything on the way.

I am a student who wants to quit school and start live my own life. What skills do I have? None. What do I want to do with my life? I want to travel forever. And I want to do that by being a successful travel vlogger. I’m doing this adventure in Europe for a year. Then after that I want to travel around other parts of the world, starting from Japan and other Asian countries.
For that design to come true peacefully, I’ll have to make some presentable results this year. But let’s worry about that later and enjoy the journey :D

My core value in life at the moment is: freedom and adventure.

“Sky is my roof. Earth is my bed. Where I go is my home.” – Chinese proverb

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My desire in life is to be travelling forever. I've been wondering about what I want to do with my life, and after 22 years I finally figured out that I had been in the happiest and serenist state of mind when I was traveling somewhere.

As I'm travelling, I also plan to upload my journey on Youtube. The first travel project I'll be doing is traveling Europe without spending any money on transportation and accommodation. I heard stories about people who've traveled similar ways and got really inspired by them. I love the fact that I can travel without having to work for a long time to afford the trip. But what I love more is the kind of experience this way of traveling creates as a by-product. By relying on such methods, I can meet a lot of people on the way and experience the authentic lives of the local people. I think that whether it be city or a country, when you get to know a certain place, people is an incredibly important factor. In that regard, this is just the perfect way for me to travel.

I am personally very excited about this adventure, and I want to film my whole journey to share it to people how wonderful this kind of traveling is, and how anyone can travel without spending too much money at all. Also by running a successful channel I desire to be able to support myself for future travel projects and make money by doing what I love to do every moment of my life.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I’m the kind of guy who accidently come across a song, thinks “oh that’s good!’, find it out, and buy it. So my taste of music looks like tiny dots spread out widely without distinct pattern. But I think they tend to have classics, jazz, or bossa nova as common elements. My favorite pieces are:
Over the Azure (Powerless)
Keira Knightley’s songs in Begin Again
Shadow Out if Time (Reuben Bradley)
Flower Dance (DJ Okawari)
Ian Clarke’s flute pieces
Umbrella (Epik High / feat. Younha)
songs from the game Maplestory (NECORD Music)

Movies and Shows (very bad memory on watched movies):
Anything from Christopher Nolan
Shawshank Redemption
Game of Thrones
White Collar

Books:
Sapiens: A Breif History of Humankind (Yuval Harari)
Guns, Germs, and Steel (Jared Diamond)
A Song of Ice and Fire
Harry Potter

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My highschool had houses competing against each other and there was a chess tournament every year. I volunteered to coach our chess team for two years. I’m not a chess expert myself, I’m just better than most beginners and I know how to quickly get them to intermediate level. Our team consisted of complete noobs except myself. I trained them for a month and we won the tournament. Both years! And one of them got really interested in chess and took it as his hobby. That made me really proud and happy :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am fluent in English and Korean. If you're interested, I can show some everyday and survival Korean :)

I LOVE cooking. I'm a total noob and I've only made something like 10 dishes so far, but I absolutely love the fact that cooking is so easy. Even a noob like me can follow a youbube video and cook something really delicious! If possible, intend to cook something for my hosts, and most of the time it will be something I have never cooked before haha. And if you're interested and we can acquire the necessary ingredients, I'll teach you some Korean dishes. And I would absolutely love to learn something from you as well :D

I love board games and card games.
I can teach chess to some level. By some level, I mean I can take a beginner who knows the rule but never learnt how to actually 'play' chess well, and give him a very solid advantage against his peers. As a by-product they'll also learn why chess can be so fun.
There is a relatively unknown but a life-stealing board game called "Diplomacy", which I'm exceptionally good at. If anyone is interested to learn them, I can teach them not only how to play, but also how to play it very well.

I'm open to learning anything. Probably lots of survival languages since I'll be travelling a lot of different countries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking. Most of the time you would be better than me, but I'm willing to cook you a Korean dish if you're interested, or non-Korean dish I haven't made before if you're adventurous enough to let me :) If nothing, I can at least help you cook.

Teach you all the boardgames I’ve mentioned above.

If nothing, I can give you my travel stories, a talk buddy, and smile ;)
