ABOUT ME

Neil
I love photography, photojournalism and street photography. Favourite photographers include Cartier-Bresson, Erwitt and Atget. A huge music fan, my favourite band is Sigur rós. I play several musical instruments to one degree or another and compose when I get a chance. A late starter but I've fallen in love with travelling spurred on by my photography.

Asia
I'm an interpreter and translator from Warsaw in Poland. I occasionally dabble in crafts and enjoy learning how to cook my veggie nonsense. I'm currently enjoying back to back episodes of Scrubs so I'll write more about myself later. I speak English, Polish and French and have started to learn Portuguese.

PHILOSOPHY

I've always admired creativity both in myself and others. I began my teens as a musician, ended them in a band, begun my 20's by starting my own record label and ended them sans record label but as a fledgling freelance photographer. Living through my 20s (and through meeting Asia) I've become more aware of environmental, animal-rights and humanitarian concerns and would like to spend my 30s documenting as a photographer

We've been part of the community since October though since November - and a brief period of hosting - life's been too chaotic to offer our couch. Things have settled down and now we're trying to be a little more involved. We love this idea and while Glasgow isn't the most exotic locale in the world, couch-surfers of the world are welcome on our wee couch any time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I recently travelled to Iceland for the annual Airwaves music festival and initially spent the first couple of nights with a friendly deuce of Polish lads. They were unbelievably kind enough to answer my panicked call to invite me to their home with a day's notice. I had a lovely couple of nights sleep in their house before moving to the Reykjavik house of dreams! Arnar and Jón are total Dudes! Both are huge music fans and play in the band Dynamo Fog and they got on like a house on fire! Better yet, their previous couchsurfer, Agnese came round again and we all hung out and became friends. What a start to my couchsurfing experience!
