I'm cycling around the world.

ABOUT ME

In March 2012 I set off to cycle around the world while raising money for UNICEF and will be cycling across Europe to Istanbul, across Asia to Indonesia, from Perth to Sydney in Australia, Queenstown to Auckland in New Zealand then from Santiago to Vancouver before crossing Canada & the USA west to east.

PHILOSOPHY

We only get one life so don't waste it. It's far better to regret the things we've done than to look back in later life and regret the things we didn't do when we had the chance.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to meet a mixture of like minded travellers who I can swap stories with over a beer or two but also people who are from the areas I'm travelling through so they can teach me about local customs and introduce me to the best food and drink from their region.

I'd also be extremely grateful for somewhere to sleep for the night, whether it be a couch, a space on the floor for my sleeping mat or even a back garden for me to pitch my tent.

Once my trip is over, I'm a firm believer in paying back any kindness received on my trip and plan on becoming a host myself, with an especially warm welcome for anyone that's hosted me on my travels and who then wants to visit the UK.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since starting my round the world trip I've been overwhelmed by the kindness of people I've met. I haven't done much couchsurfing through the CS website but have been given a bed, couch or floor for the night several times by people I've met out on the road.
