ABOUT ME

I'm a Canadian graduate student, in Europe over the summer working at the EU. I've spent the last seven years in university and working in finance, so looking forward to a change of pace. I've been to Austria a few times, but Western Europe will be new. I've been all over Canada (only the Yukon and Newfoundland left to go) including working in Yellowknife. I also have family ties to Jamaica, so I have been there a few times.

In the last few years I've tried some cool things - mostly just seeking out fun things and try them out.

PHILOSOPHY

Relax, work towards your goals and have fun.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Definitely crashed on many couches in my day. The most memorable would be crashing at a friend-of-a-friend's while tree planting in Northern Ontario. Our base camp was attacked by two black bears, tearing tents apart and attacking cars, on the same day we had helicoptered into the block and walked out on foot. We had to evacuate to town 100km away for the night, and I ended up hosted for the night through a friend's friend in town. Very grateful and one of the best sleeps in my life after the stressful day!

Music, Movies, and Books

Working on the Time Magazine top 100 novels. Currently on no 25.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lots of sailing in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Lots of off-shore races, overnight races (28h!) and international races. So much fun to hang on the forestay in heavy waves or hang off the mast on the bosun's chair.

Teach, Learn, Share

More university than is good for you. Knowledge of Canada. Lot's of business and personal finance knowledge. Good at cooking (or at least, I can follow a recipe!) I know tons about the weather and anything related to flying.
