About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm not really good at describing who I am, but I'll try my best.
Professionally, I'm a French and Latin graduate, currently combining work and pursuing another degree in English for Education to become a teacher. For a long time, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do in life but now I've found something that combines what I can potentially be good at, what I enjoy, and what could bring something to others as well.
On a personal level, I would say I'm quite a sociable, friendly, talkative and easy-going person, but that's more for others to judge.
I'm a people enthusiast who loves spending time with her boyfriend and friends, no matter how and enjoys meeting new people and talking to them, as even ephemeral encounters may have a deep impact on you.
I also love languages, observing them, learning them, teaching them, using them or talking about them, and interpersonal interactions are great for all of those.
In communication, I value understanding, sensitivity, openness to diversity and a down-to-earth attitude. What I can't stand in people is being arrogant and selfish.
My own biggest flaw is procrastination and I'm constantly struggling with this vicious enemy. I've even procrastinated my first post-covid travel for months, could you believe it?
PHILOSOPHY
Don't panic!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
At first, I just thought it to be a cheap and interesting way to get to know the place I travel to through the lens of a local person who knows best what's worth seeing or doing there.
Then it immediately became much more with my first trip and with all those experiences that I've been lucky to have in the past 11 years on Couchsurfing, it turned more into a way to connect and to learn - about the country and its culture, about your host and his/her personality and interests, and about yourself.
Interests
I'm into cultural events such as theatre performances, small concerts in bars and pubs, cinema projections, or just watching TV and films at home, in all sorts of genres and formats.
Although I'm mostly sociable and I enjoy the company of other people, the introverted part of me likesfrom time to time to seclude myself and read a good book.
My great passion is food. I love cooking and eating even more. I'm not a 100% vegetarian or vegan, but I try to considerably reduce meat consumption and I very much enjoy cooking and eating vegetarian/vegan recipes.
Oh, and since in Czechia we have this "beer cheaper than water" thing, I'm also culturally programmed to enjoy a good pint.
I'm not really into sports that much, but I enjoy walking, swimming, yoga and occasional jogging.
Travelling used to be an essential part of my life, up until covid happened and I kind of got stuck, both geographically and mentally. Hopefully, I'll get back to my old travelling appetite soon enough :)
