About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing that discovering the whole earth will cost a lot of money, I have to take it one step at a time (-:

ABOUT ME

It's all about trust, right?

Once I've let people into my life and they are close to me, I'd do anything for them. Close friendships are very important to me. I need people I know I can talk to and trust them to keep things to themselves. I mean, gossiping is fun, but not about the things that really matter!

That being said: I'm rather easy going, like uncomplicated relationships, try to get quality time with friends and enjoy being in groups, be they small of large.

This might come from my long time as a scout. I joined the scouts at an early age and was active until I moved away from my hometown to study in Hamburg. So I got to experience the part where the older people are responsible for me, but later I also got to be responsible for the younger kids. It's really cool to have a group of kids look up to you and ask you for advice or come to you on one of the trips because their homesick. At heart, I guess, I still am a scout!

PHILOSOPHY

When you crawl, you can't stumble!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had three wonderful experiences with CouchSurfing in the United States. Our hosts were really amazing and now I try my best to do the same when I'm hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed a few times, while in the US (Kansas City and New York) and we have already had our first guest in Hamburg and now in Frankfurt. All of the experiences were great so far!

Interests

First of all: Meeting new people (of course), otherwise I wouldn't want to participate in CouchSurfing. Then I could just stay in boring hotels and look at touristing sites alone. I have lived in the US for one year before and studied in Sweden for another year. I enjoyed both those experiences so much and that is mostly because of the people I met during that time!
Generally I enjoy nature, quiet evenings with friends, wild evenings with friends, long and short trips of any kind, speaking foreign languages (English as well as Swedish),...

Music, Movies, and Books

If you look through my bookshelf you will actually find a wide variety of genres, because I have read "in many directions". I like the diversion.
Same thing could be said about my music interests. I am not a devoted music person. I don't go out and buy every new CD. I rather listen to everything I hear that first catches my ears attention. I can't really pinpoint any music style that would fit my taste. But there is one new artist I can recommend at this point: The Swedish musician Laleh! Awesome!!!
Movies? I have to say, I rather watch series. My attention span doesn't allow for a 1-2 hour movie. Just kidding (-:
Really great series are of course "Family Guy", "Arrested Development", "The Office, US", and many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Colorado once and we were in the Rocky Mountains. It was summer and we decided to sleep under open skies. It was amazing! I never felt so small and so big at the same time in my entire life. I will never forget that night, even though it was freezing cold...

Teach, Learn, Share

I play the guitar, but I must say, I taught it to myself. So I only know the basic stuff and I'm not good with improvising and riffs and such. BUT I am really good at the basic stuff and could teach you a chord or two!
And of course there is always the German language skills. From swearwords to pick-up lines I could teach you a lot of cool phrases (-: To some extent I also have the Swedish language available in my repertoire. Not really any bad stuff though, because the Swedish don't swear... Really!
