ABOUT ME

We are Nell & Katie. Best Friends since the second grade. We grew up right outside of Chicago in Oak Park. We enjoy learning, meeting new people, seeing new places, discovering new cultures and reflecting on our place in all of it. We love sports. Running, soccer, softball, dancing, and ultimate frisbee. We both graduated from University in 2007 and wanted to take a trip together for many years. It was important to us in our time of travels to give our time to others. So far we have volunteered in Cape Town for two months. Begining in early April we will be backpacking throughout southern Africa.

We both love social and political documentaries and movies that make us laugh. We enjoy all kinds of music like world, jazz, rock and hip hop. We both love to read and are currently reading The New South African Key Words By Nick Shepard and Dead Aid by Dambisa Moyo. Other favorite books include: Poisonwood Bible, Omnivore's Dilemma, People's History of the United States, A Long Walk To Freedom and The Invisible Man

Cape Town is beautiful. We look forward to seeing much more of South Africa as well as Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, and Botswana!!!!
