About Me
“I do struggle because I’m attracted to beautiful things, yet at the same time I am actually very aware, in some sense, of their lack of value and that the most important things in life are your connections to other people.” Tom Ford
I was born and raised in Hamburg. My parents are both Asian. Growing up my parents first taught me English before I knew any German, which is why I've always had a big interest in seeing other English-speaking countries and perhaps maybe live in a English-speaking country. I went to Florida in January 2019, which was my first time in the US. And now I have a lot of interest in seeing what Canada is like.
I have graduated from my high school in the summer of 2018 and now around a year later after working to save up money, I've decided to try my luck and apply for a work permit in Canada. Now that I've received the letter of confirmation letting me know I'm allowed to enter Canada, I booked a ticket in June with the first destination being Toronto. Since my idea is a so-called "Work and Travel", I plan on finding a workplace in Toronto first, and plan my travel route from there. I plan to stay at a "Backpacker Hostel" first, which is a place people who travel through Canada stay at. Staying there also gives me the opportunity to meet different people from all over the world sharing the same interest in traveling
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to meet people who can show me around Canada. It will be my first time traveling by myself and my first time in Canada. That's why I chose Couchsurfing to have the opportunity to meet amazing people. I'm very interested in seeing what the "big city life" in Canada looks like and would enjoy the company of someone who can not only show me around for my first impressions of Canada, but also give me my first impressions of the people who live in Canada. I'm also very interested in the food culture of Canada. As an Asian I have tried a lot different things, not to mention "strange" foods. I'm very open-minded when it comes to trying out new things.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been on a few couches (in Orlando, Florida) around the time I created this profile (January 2019). But I dont have any references from that time because it was my mother who contacted CSers and I didn't use / set up my profile at that time.
Nonetheless I met lots of interesting and open minded people!!
Interests
My biggest hobby is going to the gym. I've been going to the gym for 4 years now and I've been going on a regular basis for 4-5 days a week right now. I really enjoy this hobby the most because for me, it gives me around 1-2 hours of time where I can fully focus on feeling my body and muscles. It's also a good distraction for me. A place where my mind can go auto-pilot and I dont have to think about a lot of stuff.
With food I really like exploring new places and new foods. I like finding places not everyone knows about. Also places that are family-owned / family-run I enjoy the most. I'm very open-minded when it comes to trying new food.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've walked the worlds longest canopy walkway in a national park in Malaysia. 530 meters long and 40 meters above ground
On June 12th I will be travelling alone for the first time to a country I have never been to (Toronto, Canada being my first stop), without a return ticket yet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach my gym workout knowledge, knowledge about fitness nutrition, skills in German, knowledge about Chinese and German traditional food.
I can learn about Canadian culture and every day life, hidden beautiful spots
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation. I'm a very humorous and open guy. I can talk about anything. I understand what it takes to keep a conversation alive. Traveling to a new place also makes me question stuff so I will maybe ask a few questions about local stuff here and there haha.
Food. I can be a great company to someone who wants to go out for a nice restaurant. Show me your favorite food place, secret food place not a lot of people know about and it'll be my treat. If you are more of a home-cooking type, I will be a good assistant and maybe introduce you to typical German food if that is what you are interested in.
I can also be a good and motivating gym partner as my interest in being confident and happy with your own body and health have always been a priority to me.
